I have searched but not found serial number info on a Glock 17 I just acquired.

It is a police model with the NY 1 trigger spring in olive drab, older Gen 3 but with only

2 pins total. Ser # DWUxxxUS where xxx is 3 numerals.

anyone?

Couldn't tell you, sorry.

I will comment, imagine historians dating glocks 150 years from now . or hi-points unearthed from the battle of L.A. or something. There are some old glocks out there already, 35-40 years old I think.

contact Glock

i did just that a few days ago, and found that my 17 was made 1/31/20 (civilian model)

they are very good at helping us, but give them a few days to get back to you.

I seem to recall one of the Glock websites (glocktalk.com), use to have an ongoing listing of Glock serial numbers and when they first appeared in the U.S.

My old duty Glock 19 was ARV067US and it was made in 1993. I wrote that serial number down 1000 times, I bet.
My academy SIGSauer P226 was U418999...we all had to memorize our serials and repeat that with a tac officer in our face or it was a run/pushup fest. 30 years later and I still remember it. ;)

I sold that P226 years ago, I think the buyer moved to Oregon.

Stay safe.

i printed out the email i got from Glock Inc.

then i folded up that print out, and stuffed it into the Glock carrying case, where the owner's manual goes.

Funny the stuff you remember. Issued handcuffs 201895 serial number. The dept. kept a record of the issued cuffs in case they turned up on a body floating in the river. First day in the precinct guys with time in told you to leave them in your locker and buy a new non serial numbered set. I once left mine on a hospitalized prisoner when I was anxious to go end of tour.
