Need a place to shoot near Clarksville, TN. Anyone with some property?

The TWRA range outside of Ashland City is nice. It's unsupervised, and you can shoot coke cans.

The automated ranges in Greenbrier are awesome.

    Left Hand Shooters

I'm a lefty. The world is righty. Lefties learn to adapt, not just on the range, but everywhere. I've only ever owned one bolt action, a Mosin Nagant M44. My first rifle was an Ithaca .22 lever action/falling block single shot. I deer hunt with a lever action Marlin. Your boys will...

Department store firearms? What ya got?...

I've got a Western Field 12 ga, that's really a Mossberg 500. It came with some funky adjustable choke that I can't figure out.

which Branch of the service did you serve?

US Army Infantry Officer 82-85 Baumholder, FRG. To keep it gun oriented, I carried either an M16A1 or a 1911A1. My rifle platoon had M203s, 5 x M60 and 4x M2 .50 cal. My mortar platoon had 6x M2, a couple of M60s, and 6x4.2 mortars.

This is very sad news. Mr. Camp was a class act. He will be missed.

    Most reliable semiauto pistols

Here's another vote for a Makarov.

    Considering a Makarov

Buy. It. Now. I haven't even heard of a Bulgie Mak for less than $225-250 in a couple of years. I love mine, it's probably the most reliable automatic pistol ever made.

    Stupid CZ 82 Question?

This link is a great compilation of info on different 9x18 rounds http://forums.gunboards.com/showthread.php?299-9x18-Ammunition-Data This bears reading as well. Pretty much anything he says about the Mak can be said for the CZ-82...

How durable are the entry level 1911s?

Let me elaborate a little bit. I'm left handed. And old. Bifocals, squinting, all of that. Because of these two traits, which I cannot change, I want an ambidextrous safety and bigger-than-GI-sights. I'm even thinking about getting a Taurus with a rail. I'd like a .45 for an HD gun...

How durable are the entry level 1911s?

I'm interested in picking up a Taurus or RIA 1911. They've been out for several years now, and I was wondering if they held up as well as their higher priced brothers. I tend to look at a gun as a lifetime investment, but any money I save on one, I can spend on another. The reviews I see...
