Hi all.

I'd like to find someone with some land who'd let me shoot my revolvers occasionally. Is there anyone in the area who'd be so kind? I usually go to the TWMR outdoor range near Ashland City but that's over an hour away. There is the outdoor range in Southside as well but every time I've gone, the ceasefire times took up 2/3 of the time I was there. They don't let you shoot at a coke can, either.

Is there anyone local who shoots on their land and would like a responsible shooting buddy occasionally?

Thanks.

Been over a decade since I lived in Nashville and worked all over TN, but I seem to recall being able to just go out in the sticks to shoot. There are also unsupervised areas that locals frequent, like everywhere I guess, but you'll need to find them through a local firearms forum. In AL, the wildlife refuges had ranges that were free and unsupervised, so check out those. The local forums are how I found the ones here in WA when I moved, and here we have a lot of Nat. Forest land we can shoot at, so maybe the Land Between the Lakes area if that is close maybe? Also, the military base SHOULD have a range open on weekends. It think it is a law? Anyway, Ft. Lewis has a nice military range, pistol and rifle, that go to 300m, but you have to pay $5 and it is only open on Fri-Sun and closed randomly from time to time. You drive out past 100m and folks hustle, so ceasefire is usually short.

I finally ended up joining a shooting club. It cost $100 one time to join plus $91 per year and you have to be an NRA member. Very nice range built by NRA in 1949 and open from 7am to 10pm. Definitely worth it, but it is pretty close to me and I shoot a lot and at odd hours.

Hope that helps.
