    CZ 527 Scope?

I don't think the 527 carbine comes with rings. I know mine didn't. I think only the American comes with CZ rings.

    CZ 527 Scope?

If you use a smaller scope, the medium rings are perfect. The medium rings on my leupold 2-7 work perfectly. I think the high rings would put the scope too high and would necessitate a cheek riser.

    CZ 527 Scope?

I put a Leupold x-1 2-7x scope on mine with warne medium rings. It works real well, and I'm happy with the scope. I wanted to keep it light and handy. The Leupold was the lightest 2-7 power scope I could find. The bolt does clear the rear bell, but it's close. I haven't had any trouble working...

Suggestions for an Inexpensive 9mm- with Caveats

This might be a little outside the box, but what about. RIA 9mm 1911? 9mm 1911s are sweet shooters and they don't have proprietary magazines

Rare - concealed carrier kills robber in Illinois, not charged?

Yes. Out of state permits are recognized as long as you stay in your car. So, theoretically, one could drive across Illinois without removing or unloading their pistol as long as the person has a valid carry permit. Just have to leave it in your car if you stop and get out. Sounds like he was...

SIG 716 Private Sale for $2K?

I see them on sale for about $1800 from gallery of guns right now. $2000 is the high end of the brand new price. Don't pay new prices for a used gun that is easy to find new. Just my 2 cents

    Middle age guys and Holsters

Honestly, if you're relatively thin and fit you might want to try appendix iwb carry. Start with a mic "holster". I found it easy and comfortable to carry with a GLOCK 26 and 19. Especially the 26. I'm not sure carrying a "big" gun like a G19 or 1911 is ever gonna be totally comfortable, but...

Which gun to buy? Special EURO guy requests.

The CZ SP-01 is a great gun, and I'm sure you'd be happy with it. You just need to decide if you want it with a decocker or a safety. I'd personally prefer the safety model. But that's personal preference. I've spent a fair bit of time shooting a SP-01 and it is very soft shooting, comfortable...

Any truth to what my gun shop is saying?

Honestly, the cadet conversion is the way to go. I don't know if it works with the SP-01 or not. Either the conversion of the whole new cadet .22 would be my choice. They are around if you look. You can have the conversion mailed directly to you, so check the Internet. As to the sr22, I don't...

    The itch strikes again...

I have a 42. It's a super easy shooting .380. Very little recoil and very fun to shoot. That said. I don't necessarily consider it a pocket gun. Yes, there are many people that can and do pocket it. It doesn't work for my pockets though. The lcp is a much better pocket gun. The 42 is a much...

    Vortex Venom on 22/45 MKIII

I'm not sure about the dovetail mount. Your 22/45 should have come with a picatiny rail that you can attach to the top. That's what I would mount a red dot to if I were ever to do that with my 22/45. Just a thought

    Building a G34 Gamer Gun

The only thing you'd want to check is if it's legal in SSP to use a steel guide rod. I was thinking that it wasn't, but don't feel like looking it up to check. If it's legal, then go for it.

Why are magazines loaded from the bottom so common?

I wouldn't exactly say that lever actions are great for prone shooting though. It can be a real pain to work the lever while in prone. I actually find an ar easier to shoot prone than my lever actions. Not to mention the problems with bullet selection in tube magazines that was previously stated.

Similar to Kahr but higher capacity?

What about a 9mm 1911? They have extremely low recoil since it's a large all steel gun and a very nice trigger to go with it. Overall, a joy to shoot. You can even put thinner grips on them if you need it. Something like the Springfield range officer in 9mm would be nice, but there are many...

    Ruger surprise

I totally understand why someone would want a .357 carbine. The .357 out of a carbine/rifle is a really good round. It's low recoil, yet still powerful enough to take deer at reasonable distances. I just wonder why a bolt? I understand bolt action rifles shooting rifle cartridges. I'm...
