    private pilot, carry on airport

I understand that, aside from state statutes, there's nothing preventing someone from legally carrying while flying a private plane, and while on the airport property. This is regarding airports where you don't need to go through security. Can anyone chime in one way or the other?

    Get in the bin?

I'm watching "I survived" with my wife, and there's a 15 year old girl who was convinced a gun point to go from her front door to the BGs car, and get into a big plastic bin in the back. I commented that it's never a good idea to go from a situation where you're in the middle of a...

    Sight question

This is an exaggerated example of what I'm talking about. But tons of good advice. . . thanks for all the replies. It's especially timely seeing as how I'm looking to get night sights soon.

    Sight question

Thank you for your reply. I am well aware of how to line up the sights. When I do so, the front sight is partially obscured on the bottom of it by part of the rear sights. Look at the picture of the rear sight. Look at the space between the dots. Look at where the plastic ends. It covers part of...

    Sight question

I have a Walther P99, and I've finally figured out what makes me so uncomfortable with the sights. . . See how the opening on the rear sight doesn't allow for you to see the full front dot when it's aligned with the 2 rear dots. In other words, look at the 2 rear dots, and then between...

    Interesting bus ride this AM

I like to say something along the lines of "Forming and sharing opinions without knowledge or understanding if prejudice and hateful. I find that very offensive." It works great to get liberal anti's thinking a little, or at least throws them off guard quite a bit.

    How do clips work?

Thanks! I get it now :)

    How do clips work?

I'm referring to en-bloc clips, not stripper clips. Regarding the difference between clips and magazine, a magazine has a spring, and a clip doesn't. Most firearms use magazines, the M1 Garand, for example, uses a clip that's then thrown out the top after it's empty. I should have been...

    How do clips work?

I've tried looking at the schematics and can't quite figure it out. . . and my google-fu is lacking today. How do clips work? Is there something that advances the round upward after each shot?

    Nu Finish

How do you add it without it painting the cases with mud green spots? I've tried letting it "tumble in" while there's no cases in the tumbler for a while, but it doesn't seem to fully mix in. Help!

    Loads for different bullet types

This might be a really novice question, but something I never put much thought into before now. Looking through load data, there are differences between FMJ, jacketed HP, plated, etc. Why? Also, I'm loading some Frontier "CMJ cast". Should these be treated any differently than than...

    Lee progressive case loading problem

Thanks for all the advice. I figured out a great solution: made the case slider taller with some shapelock. This stuff is awesome, and works perfectly for this solution. I'm loading 40 cal for those interested. Thanks for the advice.

    Lee progressive case loading problem

I'm having an issue with my lee progressive. When the case slider is pushing a new case into the holder, the bottom flips out and fails to enter the shell plate. What did I do wrong? Help!

Old Bridge Rifle & Pistol Club

My mother just let me know she's interested in learning to shoot, and is from the central jersey area. I know that many gun clubs have a really macho, "big man" culture to them (Ray's shop was the WORST), and I'm looking to avoid that. Does anyone here have personal experience with the Old...

    Revolver newbie

Yeah, it seems the consensus that S&W or Ruger are good brands to trust. I'll have her try a few on for size and test fire a few to pick out the best. Thanks all for the replies. A 3" is both carryable and shootable, right?
