Well the scope has been in the safe a few years but was working perfect when it was removed. I'm sure I will be the limiting factor in the equation. I guess my hope is the older scope will buy some time....kind of give me time to get used to the rifle while saving for a better scope.

I'm no 1911 expert myself but my full size SR has ran perfect thus far with everything I've thrown down the tube. I have less than $600 in the pistol and am very happy with it.

Thanks for the heads up. I will check that out. He told me I could come shoot it anytime, so I can get a good idea of what it will do.

Another idea that is running through my head is to get it and shoot/hunt with it like it is for now. As time and funds permit I could buy an aftermarket barrel and synthetic stock and build a better rifle.
