    hunting knife

I am a knife nut .. too. Have about 200, some too pretty to be useful. For a hunting knife I decided long ago that a 'Bowie' does not cut it (pun intended). So, a Buck 110 (have had mine over 20 years adn I found it! Old.) Has been used from TX to Yukon. To clean birds and animals and open...

    Parker Hale?

Parker Hale built some good rifles. They were very popular when I lived in Canada ... maybe because they are a UK Company. I had a few. Yes, JCP did sell guns at some stores long time ago. Competing with Sears Roebuck and Montgomery Ward. Do not think they used a Santa Barbara action .. but...

Series 70 Gold Cup National Match

Have two Series 70s. Great performers. No problems with collet bushings, or anything else. However, I have other 1911's that shoot as well. Equal in accuracy is a SA Commander Loaded. Around here a good S70 GC will be $750 to $1000, or more.

    Bolt Action Cleaning

I have disassembled many types of bolts to clear and probably wasted my time. Had to do a very few over 50+ years of shooting to replace firing pin, sping, etc. Most are a PITA!!

    .243 versus 7mm-08

eldon219 and d2wing ... agree re the 243, an in between round, and the 358, good round! I found the most satisfaction I got from my various 243's was selling them. I will still pick up one on a good deal ... and resell it!

    .243 versus 7mm-08

bpl: Exactly why I carried a 350RM or 358W when hunting whitetail in lower British Columbia! And, rifled slugs when tromping for pheasant or chukar! Even slung the 350 aross my back for early trout season. I abandoned a few strings of fish to hairy things while backing away slowly.

    Buck Knife Return…

Have purcahsed seveal brand name knives the last couple of years and found they were bargains because they were made in China. Got what I paid for. Good for use aroiund the farm for those jobs I will not use my good knives for!:) Did not mean to imply that all Buck, or any other brand, were...

    Bullets

DannySees .. thank you! I was there in 64-65 and it was not nearly as bad as later. Was back for a 'system delivery' near Danang in 69 for less than a month and admit to being scared sh__less! Bless the USMC and all the other services protecting us. I hope we don't have to do it - for any...

MCGunner -- No lead at all in the 'Condor Zone' which comprises a large area of the mid and south parts of the state. WHY? Didn't you know that condors fly around looking for lead to ingest and get lead poisoning!! No one has proven that lead is ingested or has killed a condor! Just another...

    BT99 question

The rather long ejector trip rod, and it is a bit loose to work properly. Check BT99 chematics at MidwayUSA or Midsouth or Browning. Great guns! That is where my 200 st patch adn club belt buckle came from!
