Just bought a S&W 329pd and the trigger will randomly not reset fully. It needs a slight nudge with the trigger finger to get it forward. Any thoughts? It has only 100 rounds through it.

If like other N frames, there should be an overtravel pin inside the spring of the rebound slide.
Saw one old 29 like new due to this. Same problem.
The cut to length side of the pin was to the outer edge of the slide and it had a burr. Simple grind of bevel on edge solved it.
Could have flipped the pin, but the next poor slob that ever took it apart could have put it back in the "wrong way" and had the problem again.
Slight bevel (barely there) and the pin length was unchanged, and orientation no longer mattered (the untouched end had a radius from the factory).

I would be very surprised if there is a trigger over-travel stop pin in the rebound slide of a 329PD.

I would be even more surprised if it could in any way effect the trigger return.

Even with a sharp square end on it, the rebound slide spring is expanding longer to push the trigger back foreword.

So there is no possible way it could bind in the spring and slow or stop it from expanding.

But regardless.
You have what is basically a brand new S&W, top of the line revolver.

It is under full factory warranty.

If it doesn't work, call S&W and get a call tag and let them fix it so it works as it is supposed to work.

Yea, a call is going to Smith and I'm having them take a look at it. I was starting to open it up and see if I can fix it, but then thought why am I doing this? Last thing I want to do is void my warranty on the new gun.

Careful what you soak or spray it with.

The 329PD has some clear-coat finish going on you don't want to mess up!!!
