Purchased today. Not a deal but I don't regret having pulled the trigger on her.
Nearly unfired, turn mark on the cylinder but otherwise perfect (the light when I took the pix was bad, the blueing is actually gorgeous).

I will try to go the range tomorrow morning.

I don't blame you for jumping on that one. I am not one to scour the nation trying to find a similar gun for a buck less...when I find one I like at a reasonable price, I'm going to take it home. Enjoy shooting that one!!

And if you shoot magnums instead of .38 specials, those Hogue grips will look pretty very quickly!

Congrats on your find. The Hogue grips may not look pretty but they sure help when shooting mag loads.

That's a nice find. I just love the 66's and 19's.

I'm looking for another M66, I would love to find a 66 no dash, or a -1 to add to my small collection of two M66's/eland of neat to add some 19's to the collection, I really like the blue job S&W does on those.

I have a 19-7...oh, wait...my wife claims that gun. However! I do get to shoot it on occasion. You'll like it. I don't need to tell you that...have fun!

My bad, I wasn't able to go to the range last sunday, I should be able to give it a try this coming sunday....... in the mean time I'm purchasing the VZ grips anyway!

I have a 19-3 (2.5") that I just put Ahrends grips on about 30 minutes ago. Accuracy? You can put every shot in a B-18 50 yard target if you're careful. No joke, I did it yesterday. Of course I reload. M19's are lasers.

Revolver Newbie Info please

I take it that is a .357 Magnum? What would be a reasonable price for one?

Thanks!

Again, is there any rational reason you're avoiding telling us what it cost? :scrutiny:

Sorry mate I just missed the meaning of your post, bear with me english is a second language!
If we make euros and usd one to one ( which in this case makes sense) I've paid 500 usd, which in italy would be the price of a perfect model 19 if pinned and recessed. Being this one a 19-5, though in perfect shape, I was probably 100 bucks over. From what I see on this forum used revos prices are comparatively higher in the US than they are in Italy due to higher demand.
The model 10-7 I bought in July came with me at 250 usd, brand spanking new in the box, not even a faint turning line! But i bought it from a shop that sees a lot of business and usually they let go the used revos they trade-in at very good prices.
This one was a different story,
the guy I bought it from runs a small shop and he hasn't been doing too good lately and on top of it he's a friend, so I have no regrets.

I would like to try a T adapter but here in Italy they are as scarce as unicorns....

and here is the range report 66 rounds of 357 at 12 metres. Ammo is an italian brand called LCM with 160 gr bullits.

I never shot before 357 through a snubnose, my other 357 is a model 28, they sting the hand after a while

fausto, congrats, the 2 1/2" model 19 is one of the best all around revolvers Smith and Wesson ever produced. Its size makes it fairly easy to conceal, yet it has enough bulk to feel like you've got a real gun in your hand. Unlike most small frame revolvers. That along with the ability to safely fire any 38 special ammo, and any sane .357 Magnum ammo, and you've got a winning combo.

As for the turn line, Smith and Wesson advises, if there is not a turn line something is wrong with the revolver.

Hey, no worries, thanks for answering the question !! From your OP, I was thinking you REALLY over-paid, but I don't think you paid too much, or at least not by very much. Around here, I would expect that one to be priced somewhere around $500 on the used market, and maybe even a little more if it was in a gunshop. Being a snubby, which seem particularly popular, I wouldn't expect it to be any less.
Anyway, nice pistol, I've always loved these snubby .357's, but somehow haven't had one fall my way.

MIL-DOT, 500 in that condition? Where's your area? haha

I've only ever seen 2 in my area, both were 750 or more, in worse shape, and didn't sit around very long either.
I did see a snub 66-3 once, it sold at 625 in pretty decent shape.
