How did I do?

I got a chance to really run it through its paces yesterday. With four different shooters, including a very small female who didn't seem to mind the recoil :) It performed really really well. At the end of they day my buddy had a mixed bag of shotgun shells that we ran through and I did have a failure. And let me tell you, clearing a failure in this shotgun is not like a glock lol. So as most of us know, there is no side eject port on these badboys. What had happened was my friend had shot, went to eject, and the shell in the chamber didn't come out. It kind of ripped instead which allowed the bolt to come back and the lifter to attempt to get another round in the what was now blocked chamber. Y'all see how this got real sticky really fast? LOL so ultimately, I ended up sort of prying the old shell out. (didn't take much effort), cutting the metal part off with a knife I had and then cutting the shell as much as i could and pulling it out with pliers. This took some time, and could certainly be a life ending malfunction if it occurred in a firefight. Anyone know of a better way to clear this? Does the lifter have an easy way to be pulled out?

I forgot to mention that the shells we were shooting at that time wee OLD. I mean really OLD from companies i never knew existed. So I dont think the malfunction was the fault of the shotgun.

That is why you always take cleaning rods to the range with you.

I misunderstood, jumbojim. I am glad you got it worked out. That is a nice looking pump shotgun. I'd be proud to own it.

I figure it is fine for a single arm pump. As far as the Mav 88 comment. I'd take my 88 over most shotguns I see today. I have had it for over 5 years, zero failures, shoots slugs like a rifle, and has been know to win some money at the trap range. Oh! and the Mav 88 has a double arm pump (stronger) and will take screw in chokes for the Mossy 500, and is easily converted to a HD shotgun with a 18.5" barrel.

But you dd good with the Ithaca. Reminds me of my Stevens 520 my PapPa gave me.
Only gave my opinion with regards to the gun's look. I hold nothing against the Maverick. I just think this particular example looks better than any Maverick ever made.
