STI ESCORT in 45 AUTO

I've had an Escort for about 4 years although mine is in 9mm, not .45acp. It's been boringly reliable and with the alloy frame makes for an easy carry. Mine hasn't had any ammo issues. I've used Speer Gold Dot and Hornady Critical Duty with no issues. For the range I've run WWB, Atlanta Arms, and Freedom Munitions (new and reman) with no issues. Like all STI pistols it's very well made. Tight, very smooth, accurate, and a very nice crisp trigger. I carry it confidently in an IWB holster from TT Gunleather. It rotates with two other STI pistols. In the spirit of full disclosure I'm an STI fan. I carry STI, shoot them for fun, and compete with them in IDPA and USPSA.

So do you feel that the 9mm is easier shooting than the 45, especially with the aluminum frame ?? I have only shot one aluminum framed 1911 and it was a LW Commander in 45 and it had a much sharper recoil than my two government models.

I have a 9mm steel-framed STI Trojan and agree it's very well made, tight, smooth, accurate, and a nice crisp trigger. No doubt the 9mm is easier shooting than the 45.
