I just replaced the bicycle-innertube grip wrap that I installed in Spring'14.

Actually, I should have replaced it in June, so it was good for almost 2 years.

Prior to installing the new one, I tried the Pachmayr Tactical Grip Glove that I bought in 2013 but found to have a migration issue.

I was going to give it another try by first spraying the grip with hairspray prior to installing it. Someone here(?) suggested that that would keep it in-place.

First, I installed the Pachmayr on the dry grip and carried it that way for a few days ...

... and it just feels wrong. Too soft, too squishy.

So ... I removed the Pachmayr and installed the new bicycle-innertube grip wrap.

Aaaaahhhhhh, just right ... for me. :D

I'm sure that someone will be along soon to tell me/us how great they think the Talon stick-on grips are. ;)

The Talon grips certainly are expensive. $18 for a single wrap.

I've had an innertube wrap on my g22 for at least 2 years. Not bad for something I got for free by walking into a bicycle shop and asking for some of their trash....and I still have enough tube to make a dozen more wraps.

I use the same thing on my guns - but I'm willing to go spend the $2.99 for one at WalMart :) :)

I have used the tube trick on my XDs and XDm for years and have found nothing better. Sometimes two layers.
No migration issues in thousands of rounds - I think that one is imaginary if your grip is anywhere near correct.

That's a great idea. I've never used any sort of supplemental grip on my EDC, but for a couple bucks it doesn't hurt to see if things get better with it. If not, go back to using it bare. No harm done.

For many years I have used them on assorted handguns. I like the fact that they are neither thick nor fabric-grabbing "sticky" rubber ... oh, yes, and the price is right. ;)

I have them on my P3AT, PF9, XDs and G30S.

The G30S grip is about as big as my innertube can handle. That thing was a BEAR to install.

Actually, when I first started trying to get that @&%$# thing on there, I was almost convinced that the task was going to prove to be impossible.

I tried it on a old Smith 2nd Gen auto loader I used to carry.

Wasn't really my thing, but I do recommend it to people to try.

My EDC is a XDs really like it do not mine the grip. What are you finding for advantages for doing the tube. I find it interesting and it looks like if I do not like it is no harm no foul.

IMO, the OEM grip treatment on the XDs is much more aggressive than necessary and I find it to be uncomfortable.

The innertube sleeve gives me a good, positive grip without the clothes-grabbing "stickiness" of some other rubber grip treatments.
