The subject of this post is "Wasted Time". You are forewarned ...
Background: I have had a Glock 42 'for sale' for about a year, but no one seems interested in buying it since Glock came out with the 43 chambered in 9x19mm Luger, so I may end up buying it myself, though the little .380 ACP semi-auto is not something I was really looking for; I also have over 2,000 rounds of 9x18mm ammo on hand to feed my CZ82 and Makarov pistols..
Somehow early this morning, and for the life of me I cannot remember how, I ended up on a thread about a Lone Wolf conversion barrel chambered in 9x18mm Makarov for the 42. I followed some links and ended up at the Lone Wolf (I like the 9x19mm conversion barrel I bought from them for my .40S&W Glock 23) web site and there was the barrel, with a status of 'back ordered'. Very little info was supplied, so I began searching the web for details on how the Makarov round would work in the 'converted' Glock.
I was shocked to find several links to a Glock 47 - a single stack pistol chambered for the 9x18mm Makarov cartridge! My web surfing seemed to get carried away on a big wave, and it was not until I found a fairly detailed post that alluded to the intro of this Glock 47 Makarov pistol causing sales of 1911s and Hi-Powers to dwindle that I realized I had been duped.
I wasted over 20 minutes of my life looking for a chimera that began its existence as an April Fools Day hoax! I felt like a dope, but it did make me smile.
Now to get my e-mail notification set up for when Lone Wolf has that Makarov barrel in stock ...
