Grips for Model 19

There are many good choices, fortunately. I'm sure you know this but someone else reading may not know the Model 19 comes with a square grip and rounded grip like yours. So it's important to order the right grips. My 6" 19 uses the square type while my wife's 2.5" Model 66 is rounded. The 66 and 19 factory rounded grips look like what is linked below.

The "K" frame guns of that era were available with round butt and square butt frames. The common barrel lengths of 6" and 4" were square butt and the 2.5" guns came with the round butt. Magna, target, and combat style grips were available for each type of grip frame. Below is my 2.5" model 66 (ND) with round butt target grips (also known as banana grips).

For my very small revolvers I have come to prefer Eagle Grips Secret Service grips. They offer them in ebony and rosewood, here my Modle 19 with rosewood:



And a Model 36 Chiefs Special with rosewood:

My snub nosed M19-5 wears factory magnas and a brass Tyler T-grip.
Feels great, looks classy and hides well.

I am a fan of elk horn and grip adapters.

those grips will likely be more comfortable and make the gun easier to shoot for most. Like anything else its all compromise. The small factory grips are small and easy to carry and being relatively smooth clothing does not stick etc but they are harder to shoot with well and not nearly as comfortable.

Pachmeyer compacts are great balance rubber grips for the k frame snubs

there are many good wood grips for that gun. Pick a flavor and pick a style.

you need to decide what is most important to you in that gun... comfort-concealment or looks... then balance the choice for you.

I like Hogue wood finger groove grips. They fit my hand like they are custom made.

I like the Hogue Monogrip in the OP's first pic. These grips are not very pretty, but work well. I have one on my SP101 .38 3" and it works very well with my long fingers as opposed to the factory grip using .38+P loads.

All of the rest of the "pretty" wood grips that are shown here, IMO, are not as functional.

Lose the rubbers, all these grips are fully functional...

I have a set of Safari land grips on my 19 snub, been on there nearly 20yrs...never cared for the factory grips.

These are the grips that came on my Model 19-3 when I bought it brand-spanky new in 1975. The factory called them Oversized Target grips, and the wood was Goncalo Alves. Notice these particular grips do not have the speed loader cutaway that burley's grips have.

I have always liked these grips, have never seen any need to change them.

My 4" model 19-5 with grips which originally came with a 686-3 when I bought it new in 1989. I modified them by rounding off the bottom which makes them fit my hand better.

The 686 now has a set of black Altamonts.

I'm another fan of the standard grip with a grip adapter.

I use the BK adapters now but only because they're easier to get than Tyler's.
