FedEx Discount for NRA Draws LGBT, Anti-Gun Activist Rage

Published on December 20, 2016.

A coalition of gay-rights and gun-control activists is taking on FedEx for discounts it offers to members of the National Rifle Association, targeting the global shipper during the peak of the holiday season.

FedEx offers shipping discounts of as much as 26% to members of the NRA, the gun-rights group with 5 million members, as part of a program that also has special offers for Visa cards, according to Guns Down. Separate programs offer deals on Hertz rental cars and Wyndham hotels, according to the NRA website.

LGBT groups have increased their anti-gun activism since a shooting in June that killed 49 people at the Pulse gay nightclub in Orlando.

It's just sad when people don't see the obvious right in front of them. If I were one of the 49 people I would have rather been holding a gun, holding an anti gun protest will do as much good as holding an anti rain protest following a flood...

Bloomberg News plays up "LGBT, Anti-Gun Activist Rage". Never heard of those groups before this news item. I have heard of "Pink Pistols" who probably have a different opinion. Given their prominence for years why weren't they contacted? [sarcasm]Funny how one-sided Bloomberg News is on gun issues. You would think Bloomberg News was the propaganda arm of Everytown if you were conspiracy minded.[/sarcasm]

jmorris "... an anti rain protest following a flood ..."
This protest is comparable to burning the Beatles' White Album over the Manson Family "Helter Skelter" murders.

They should offer LBGT community the same discount if they give their NRA member number.
Hehehe...good one. Yeah, someone explain again what LGBT has to do with gun politics?

I figure it's just an "angle" they want to suggest that if your pro gun your a homophobe.

Despite the event they used to spring board the subject would have been a good example of when gays needed guns.

They think some more laws will save them. In much the same way speed limits have eliminated speeding in this Country.

From the article, "FedEx is one of the biggest and most recognizable brands" with NRA discounts, Mr. Volsky said. "If they really value investing in under-served communities, which we think they do, then partnering with the NRA really undermines that mission." No, Mr. Volsky, Fed Ex is a business, in it to make money, not "invest in under served communities" (not that that has anything to do with shipping guns anyway). It's good business to keep good customers happy, which means having sales and discounts for them on occasion. If FedEx made as much money shipping rainbow flags as they do guns and ammo then they'd have discounts for that too.

This discount isn't for me and you... it's for small businesses under the FedEx Advantage / NRA Business Alliance program.

Truth be told, any small business can get those types of discounts if the just work with their FedEx rep regardless of being a NRA member.

Man, you're presenting true, logical, reasonable facts. This is about emotion and feelings! ;)

LoL... we'll then, let me fix that.

All small businesses equal the NRA so all small businesses should be boycotted !!!

(except, of course, those owned by members of the LGBT community)

I find this trend very disturbing...

The more radical LGBT groups are very aggressive about trying to shame and coerce anybody who disagrees with them. They use the courts to get access to donor lists of their political opponents and then harass and intimidate anyone who dares to exercise their first amendment rights.

Now they are assaulting Fed Ex for negotiating a discount for NRA members.

Apparently, they think all NRA members are stodgy conservatives who oppose their views on sexuality and have never heard of the Pink Pistols.

Or, does their agenda really go far beyond LGBT equality issues?

I appears that our 2A rights are under assault from every direction, not just politics and courts.

If they really value investing in under-served communities
What the-- I thought this was about LGBT, now he's dragging assorted racial/socio-economic nonsense into this? As if the inner-city (or LGBT for that matter) don't have access to FedEx? If anything, the 'under-served community' is the guy in rural Arizona who has to drive fifty miles to the nearest drop or pickup location.

This sounds like a bunch of out-of-work gay marriage activists and other assorted out-of-work rabble-rousers trying to find employment by way of a common political 'enemy' that has nothing at all to do with their past issues, apart from the fact their previous employers (Democrats all) hated the NRA for opposing a separate gun control putsch. I seem to recall reading shortly after Obergefell settled the gay marriage issue, that the activists would soon be pursuing gun control as a follow-up. Good luck with that.

The shame of it is they're impacting public perception as to what being gay really means. If I was a pro-2A gay guy, I'd be uber-pissed. They're effectively reinforcing the whole 'defenseless girly-man' stereotype that I imagine most gay males have to be pretty tired of.

The left LOVES Blacks, women, gays, etc... as VICTIMS.

The second ANY of us resolves to NOT be a victim, we become evil incarnate, worse than the worst victimizer.

If a gay man or lesbian had shot the Pulse nightclub murderer, they would INSTANTLY be vilified as an "islamophobe".

Gays better get it through their heads that they're a rung or two beneath islamist murderers on the left's "victimhood ladder".

Some of the LGBT people learned the lesson of Orlando, and have been getting trained/licensed to carry.

Some will never learn, regardless of sexual persuasion.

Maybe the LGBT members missed their history classes. The German Socialist Party AKA Nazis enlisted the minorities to take over the Democratic German Republic.
The Gays held high positions in government and the Military. When they became a liability they were executed along with other minorities. The LGBT of the 1930s thought they were attaining power also.:uhoh:

It's really the LLGBT crowd that hates the NRA. It's not even an undeclared war any longer.

They're just more riled up than usual since their standard bearer failed to make it to 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.
