I've had a S&W model 617 on the radar for a while now. Never shot one but everyone says they are one of the best 22 revolvers you can get. An area shop had them listed in the latest sale flyer at $50 off the regular price so I figured now is the time to see how nice they are for myself. We got 4 inches of snow today but its supposed to be 46 degrees on Saturday so hopefully I'll get to try it out. The same shop had the 325rd packs of Federal Auto Match ammo on sale for $14.99 a box.

Nice looking piece. If it shoots as well as it looks good you should be pleased. Due to recent plastic surgery by my wife of 35 years I am trying to recover from being skinned alive. I still like my old Ruger with the extra magnum cylinder so I have no complaint. She laid down the law about my lazy guns that have stood in the corners loaded all these years and just allow easy targets to pass by. I must have got special ones as they are not evil like some are portrayed in the media.

Nice! I got my buddy one just like that last year as a retirement gift. He loves it. I've shot it too, and it seems like a great revolver. Congrats man.

Congratulations on getting the best 10 shot .22 revolver made, you're going to love it. The 617's are my most used revolvers. I recently picked up new Ruger GP100 10 shot to compare, it's not too bad but the 617 has better fit and finish and a better trigger.

Great. Had a six inch, steel cylinder, and it was the second most accurate .22 revolver I have ever owned. First was a K22. Enjoy.

Beautiful gun..

I'm excited about the cheap .22 ammo. That says to me that the price has gone down and may will stay there.

I went and picked up 2 more boxes of the Federal Auto Match ammo while it was still on sale for $14.99. The sale goes on until March 31 or as long as the supply lasts so I will likely be getting even more if they have it.
