How often do you re-lub your guns?

Technically, Hoppe's #9 is a powder solvent, not a lube.

I happen to use Tetra as a lube--it's a formulation of teflon in a suspension. I like it a just a tad better than CLP. I have late uncle who used nothing but 3-in-1, but I find the viscosity a tad too high for my taste.

As to frequency, really, "as needed" probably says it best. If I find something that feels sticky or not slick enough, it gets lubed.

Hoppe's makes lubricating oil.

It's too easy to overthink this.
After you clean off the old, dirty lube, then it's time to re-lube.

I will throw my hat in to the Mobil 1 ring. Seems to work very well in my 1911 and Browning

'Tetra' gun lubricant ruined the finish on the beautiful wood grips of my S&W Model 41. Personally I've found that certain mineral oil based gun cleaner/oils will start to become tacky and turn slightly acidic after being left for (about) 4 to 6 months on the gun. If I'm using a product like Ballistol (Which I DO use!) I make sure not to leave the gun unattended for more than 3 to 4 months at a time. (I've learned the hard way!)

The best generally available long term gun CLP I've found is Safariland's, modern day formula, 'Break-Free' CLP. When used in combination with a, 'Dri Rod' dehumidifier/heating rod which I installed in the bottom of our gun safe, a thorough cleaning and proper lubrication with, 'Break-Free' should be able to last for years — Many years! (Just make sure to keep your safe door tightly closed, open it as seldom as possible, and be sure that, 'Dri Rod' remains constantly plugged in — OK!)

My 2 carry guns, every month. {usually} Guns that sit for long periods? I have a couple guns that have been sitting for a couple yrs. Haven't touched them. Of course I don' tuse a safe so dampness isn't a problem.

I do a clean and lube twice a year, regardless if it's been shot it or not. Always lube after normal cleanings. I've used Hoppe's standard lubricating oil for over 30+ years and haven't had a problem when out on the field hunting, on the range, or on my gun's finish. I do used Breakfree CLP on my pistol barrels and just started using Lucas Gun Oil on the slides, with great satisfaction. They also get a coat of Rigs Gun Grease for long term storage.

I wipe mine down 2x a year even if I'm not shooting them. Not a full 'oil change' just making sure nothing is rusting. Wipe em down , work the action etc.
This is what I do for guns in the safe, edc more often and my normal weekly range gun as needed

I store my firearms mostly dry. When I clean them, I use a protectant spray to prevent rust. When they are about to be carried or shot, I use Hoppes lube on the major contact points. Most user gun manuals have these highlighted. On regular carry guns, I relube them after a monthly light cleaning to get pocket lint out.

I lube my guns after I clean them. I clean them whenever they seem to need it. For hunting rifles I clean the bore at the range and fire a fouling shot before I leave.
