as i cant find a hammer for this gun can you use a s&w m36 hammer? its my understanding that this is the same gun just made by dif. co. rossi was to have bought old s&w machinery at one point. all this was pre taurus ofcourse
 
While Rossi, like Taurus, began by making S&W clones, they have long derivated from the original design and have reengineered the lockwork. Here's a parts diagram and you might want to compare it with that of a S&W J frame.

results of either bashing my head on the wall at work or cruising ebay......sometimes both
