Just came from a place called Boling Gap Gun & Pawn in Blue Ridge, Ga., and couldn't help notice this beauty -- a S&W 13 that seems to be in mint condition for $312. Seems tight, not a mark on it. It even comes with a box, instructions and a partially shot box of .38 Spc ammo.

The price seems great, but what does a gun like this generally go for in this condition? I took a photo of it and it seems clean as a whistle. Am thinking about going back for it tomorrow.

What do you think? Is it a good price? If I'd had the money on me today, I would have bought it.

Thanks!

Callem and reserve it, Now!

Price is more than okay for a clean, possibly minty, Model 13 (with box, papers - tool? - as well). At least 550, probably over 600 in my area.

If your currently a Maryland resident, you could buy it at that price, and have them ship it home to your FFL. You'd still be in it for less than $400, I bet. Which is less than I would expect it to go for in condition not as good as it is.

At that price and in that condition it's like the Deal of the Century! I would certainly try to find a way to get that gun in my collection.

Has to be an April Fool's prank. MDL 13 has such a cult following, that gun wouldn't have lasted 10 minutes at that price. Even at double that price, it would go fast.

Price ok, but i like adjustable sights on big revolvers.

The Model 13 is built on the K frame. It is not a 'big' revolver. It was cataloged as the 357 Magnum Military and Police, Heavy Barrel. No bigger than a Model 10.

$312 is just an OK price? Not around these parts.

I picked up this Model 13-2 a few years ago. You can see part of the name on the papers that came with this one. I seem to remember it was somewhere around $500. Can't be absolutely sure. But it sure as heck was not $312. This one shipped in 1979.

Gotta say, I hope all this media attention has not driven the price up.

Though I prefer the 3" barrel, round butt variant of this fine revolver, I'd buy the one you're looking at in a New York minute. Buy it friend or forever regret your failure to open the door opportunity is hammering on with insistent blows.

If it dont fit in my pocket, its a "big revolver" and without adjustable sights, about useless. M19, much more to my liking, but i have a m28 N frame 6" , if i need a " big revolver"
