I dropped by the local gun store to drool over 44 magnums again. I've been wanting a single action to keep me company in the truck next hunting season for maybe a whitetail or two.
Anyway, a new one jumped out of the case and latched onto me like a new puppy. And like a new puppy, it followed me home!
It's a Lipsey Ruger model 0820, whereas the regular Ruger is a 0802. I thought it was a typo, but it's not according to their website. I tried to see the difference but can't. Any ideas?
I broke it in today with 8.0, 9.0, and 10.0 Unique under a 240 Missouri Kieth.
Leading: I got some, but hey, it's the first 50 rounds out of the gate so I expected it. I don't ever plan on shooting a jacketed bullet from this gun!
Accuracy: Did manage a 2" 5 shot group at 25 yards.
Trigger: Is looolong and a little rough. Balance: little muzzle heavy, but helps steady off hand shooting.
Recoil: very acceptable with todays reloads, probably because of weight.
Sights: Had to run elevation all the way down to get on target as seen here at 25 yards. Will determine if sights are problem after I try other loads.
Hammer: silver with nice wide spur
Barrel: warning is under barrel out of sight
