Got my beautiful super blackhawk and took it to the range and sighted in. I had some 240 grain blazer 44 mag and 210 grain black hills 44 special. I sighted in with the mag ammo and then shot some of the softer sweeter shooting special. It hit about 3 1/2 inches high at about 10 yards and off the target at 25. I have S&W 686 in .357 that i shoot 38's with pretty much the same POI with all amo. Does anyone else shoot 44 special out of there 44mag or am i just a fool. Any hints or tips would be greatly appreciated

My M29

shoots at POA with 44 Mag 240 grain rounds and low with 44 Spec 200 grain rounds.

All of the 44 mags I have owned shot high with mild loads at 44 Special velocity. At 25 yards with the Super Redhawk I had , I adjusted the rear sight all the way down and still was high on target with the 240 LSWC.

The same thing occurs when firing heavy bullets loaded to magnum levels vs light bullets loaded to magnum levels. The 300s hit very high @ 25 compared to the 180s .
