My cabelas has a lot of small rifle primers but my main goal is accuracy. I'm trying a couple new powders like h322 which says use a normal primer and not magnum which i already have.

Would you guys just stick with cci or S&B small rifle would be okay?

I have not used then yet but if I needed primers I would buy them. I say that because of the many users on this forum who have reported them to work very well.

I must admit, I really like CCI and Win rifle primers and the price of the S&B primers would have to be a good deal.

I've used them before. I don't think they are any better or worse than CCI.

Ive been running them in 9mm just cause they are so cheap. The low price made me stay away from them in rifle but if you guys say good to go ill give them a shot. I enjoy hand loading and squeezing every ounce of accuracy out of my rifles so just wanted to make sure i wasn't getting junk.

I've used a few thousand of them in my 223 loads. compared to cci I have noticed no difference except they may seem to fit a little tighter in the pocket

I hope so! I have about 10k set aside between sr and sp. I got them for about $23 per thousand, really hard to beat

Buy em, use em and shoot em, especially since Cabelas has them for 20 bucks for 1K.
Have run 1k thru my 223 reloads with no issues

I've run around 10,000 of them in 9mm, .223, .45 Colt and .308 winchester. Zero failures to fire. They are a bit tighter than CCI, but I haven't found one that wouldn't seat completely.

I have upward of 50,000 of them in all 4 flavors and absolute confidence in their function.

Currently on sale at Cabela's.

thanks guys. I'm going to use the 100 standard rifle primers I found today and see if they differ from the mag primers ive been using. if my groups are better ill buy a couple bricks. I might grab a brick tomorrow in LR for 45-70.

I have used them off and on over the years and do not see any differences with them compared to the other brands. They are made to metric specs as are the Wolf so they are generally tighter to seat. That will give me an extra reload or two when I have a loose primer pocket on fired brass so that is a win. The price is always lower that the usual suspects so that is a bonus. A couple of my rifles work better with S&B primers than with any other brands so I have specific loads worked up with them and keep some LR saved back for that. Doubt you can go wrong, especially if they are on sale when purchased.

Don't know about the rifle but the SP + LP seem to work just fine. I have used up maybe 12000 of the SP from different lots (different orders at different times) an maybe 2K of the LP.

I like 'em better than Tula/Wolf primers.

S&B so far has been 100% reliable.
Tula/Wolf about 98-99%

But remember, loads made with any primer
should be dropped down a bit when changing primers.
