I noticed this wear mark (circular shaped mark in photos) on the inside of the frame on my new G20 Gen4, using a Lone Wolf stainless steel guide rod and 22lb ISMI spring. This is after only 100 rounds. None of my other 10 or so Glocks have wear marks like this, including the two that have aftermarket steel guide rods. Should I be concerned?

my G20 barrel has 2 steps on it but only one is the correct position for capturing the guide rod. Are you sure that the guide rod is seated down against the lower stop which is actually where it should be? Did you notice where the guide rod was when you removed the slide?

When putting the slide back on i keep my thumb against the spring to keep it from jumping off the lower notch as I guide the slide back on.

Put your slide on and off a few times and observe where the guide rod is when you remove it.

Yes, guide rod installed correctly. After looking at this closer, the rear end of the Lone Wolf guide rod is smaller in diameter than the Gen4 factory guide rods, which would cause it to fit much looser in the frame, even though these are supposed to work in Gen4 models. My other aftermarket guide rods are designed specifically for the Gen4, and are larger in diameter at the rear.

Although it seems counterintuitive, the guide rod doesn't actually touch the barrel when the gun is assembled. The assembly notch is just there for assembly/disassembly. As soon as the gun is together, the back of the guide rod sits against the flat spot in the frame.
