Silencer Shop is advertising a deal if you buy SilencerCo suppressors priced at $700 or more.

"Customers are eligible to receive a FREE Warlock, Spectre or Octane with the following qualifying serialized purchase:
  • $700 Serialized purchase (pre-tax / pre tax stamp) qualifies customer to receive a free Warlock/Spectre
  • $800 Serialized purchase (pre-tax / pre tax stamp) qualifies customer to receive a free Octane 45/9 or 45K"
I would like to pick up a 7.62 and 5.56 can and this might be the right incentive. Does SilencerCo make good 7.62 and 5.56 cans? What are SilencerCo's best 7.62 and 5.56 suppressors? I am most concerned with quietness. Thanks.

None of the 5.56 cans are above $700, so the promotion doesn't help you get anything except a rimfire can. And you can't get a 5.56 can as your freebie even if you buy a >$800 7.62 can.

As it stands, you can buy a 7.62 can and get a .22 rimfire can, or buy the most expensive in-stock choice and get a pistol can.

Or am I confused and are you thinking of the 7.62 and 5.56 as the same silencer used on both? Regardless, this promotion isn't as great as it appears at first glance. If anything it will have sellers raising the prices of their cans to put more of them over the $700 and $800 thresholds.

I don't see any dedicated 5.56 cans for $700 or more. However, there are a few 7.62 cans (both at the $700+ and $800+ price points) or at leans ones that are rated for 7.62. Harvester, Omega, Saker, Hybrid, Chimera. Are any of those suppressors favorably received?

SiCo is the largest manufacturer of silencers in the US, so I would say they are "favorably received".;)

Which one is best for you depends on what firearm(s) (AR, AK, bolt action, SBR, precision rifle, etc) you intend to use it with, what type of shooting (plinking, home defense, hunting, etc) and what your expectations and preferences are (ease of attachment/removal, full auto rated, sound reduction, weight, length, etc). 99% of the recommendations you will get are merely guys recommending what they bought....and they only have experience in what they bought.

Only the Omega and Chimera are over $800,and only the Omega is in stock. So that makes the Omega your only choice if you want a pistol can. The Saker is >$700 <$800 so it gets you a rimfire can.

In 5.56 a Saker just barely gets you a rimfire can.

Keep in mind that Silencer Shop isn’t the only dealer you can use. Any SilencerCo dealer can sell you the can(s). Somebody locally may have a model that suits you and actually have it in stock.

True statement.

Tell us more about what you want to do with it & your intended host weapons and we can better assist you. You say "quietest" is what you want, but we need to know what cartridge, action type and barrel length to better aid your decision. What works well on a 24" .300 Win Mag bolt gun isn't going to be optimal for a 10.5" 5.56 semi auto. Suppressors are optimized for more than just bullet diameter.

It's a silencerco deal, not a silencerco shop deal. Cast a broader net with your shopping and you will find more in stock. I thought about getting an omega 30, but I don't need the rimfire or the octane cans.

I understand it's not a Silencer Shop exclusive deal. However, Silencer Shop is, unquestionably (at least in my opinion), is the best online suppressor dealer, especially with all the services and technology that they offer.

I've bought two silencers from SilencerShop, and I was satisfied, but they certainly aren't the only game in town. If I was buying a can right now, I'd keep an eye on:

Capitol Armory
Lanbo's Armory
Gun Pro Deals (make an account to see the best deals)
Hansohn Brothers

In fact that last site has Omegas and Hybrids for exactly $800 ( w/free shipping).... Funny, exactly the amount you need to spend to get a free pistol can... How convenient.

Silencer Shop does have their Kiosks, and "Powered" network, so that they can go ahead an fill out your F4. To me that was a bigger bonus back when F3s weren't turned over so quick. I've seen some accounts of unusually long delays between when folks bought a can from Silencer Shop and when their form went pending that may have been caused by the way they submit in batches. If I was going to buy a can from Silencer Shop, I'd just have them send it to my local dealer and fill out the F4 myself (it's really easy). That way I wouldn't have to worry about the risk of an extra chunk of wait time.

As for which SiCo can, I'd say that for pretty much any usage on .308 and 5.56 that doesn't involve constant full auto or very short SBR use, I'd go with an Omega 300. I have a Saker 762 that I bought (shortly) before the Omega came out, but if I could magic it into an Omega, I'd do it in a heartbeat. For my uses (hunting, precision rifle, 18" SPR AR etc) I don't need the super toughness of the Saker and would love to give up it's extra weight. If SiCo weren't running such a killer deal, I'd also check out the TBAC Ultra series, Dead Air Sandmans, and Q Half Nelson/Trash Panda... But it's hard to pass up a buy one get one free deal!

If you want to shoot something larger than .308, then the Hybrid would probably be the way to go. I use my .308 cans on all my 5.56s, and they work quite well, I personally wouldn't bother with a dedicated 5.56 can until you have all your other major bases covered.

Btw, Capitol Armory chimed in on a similar thread in a certain AR-15 themed forum and clarified that the $700 or $800 threshold could be met by buying multiple cans. For example, if you bought 3 cans totalling $1600, you would qualify for two Octanes/Omega K pistol cans.

Alternatively, if you bought an Omega 300 from Gun Pro Deals for $735, and a Spectre 2 for $222, you could use the total of $957 to get a free Octane 45, covering all the basic suppressor needs in one fell swoop.

Yeah, but all that stuff only matters if they have the can you want in stock.

Good points. Also, I just called SilencerCo and confirmed what Gtscotty posted. You are able to combine for a total price. Therefore, you can buy a $600 7.62 and a $300 .22 and because the total is over $800, you are entitled to an Octane.

How long does the special last? Would figure I'm out of the country for 4 weeks

I think it goes till July 15, and I believe you have to have fully paid for the cans by July 30. I don't see why you couldn't take advantage of the deal while out of country. If you have phone or Internet access, you can order the cans, pay, have them shipped to your dealer then fill out the SiCo form online or over email. Submit your form 4 when you get back.

Just ordered a black Omega (they came back in stock today, but gray and FDE were still out of stock last I checked). I already have an Octane 9 and 45. I'm not too interested in the 45K because it is louder. So... Now I have to decide on getting another Octane 9 or 45 as my freebie.

From experience, a lot of gun companies will ban an order from a foreign IP. Guessing because of that whole ITAR thing. Some places I order all the time without issues. It's hit and miss.. Heck most gun forums will block me too despite being a member. Fun fun fun
