Well, I popped into one of my local gun shops last night for some ammo and to have a gander at the inventory, when a striking German piece caught my eye. What was it? Why a PPQ M1 of course. I fondled it for a couple of brief seconds, the price was right, and before I could even say "I'll take it", the guys had a 4473 form waiting for me. These guys know I love me my German pistols. I haven't had an opportunity to take the gun to the range yet, as I'm currently down to one hand (broke my right hand playing golf) and loading mags is a serious challenge right now with a cast on one hand.

I can't wait to get this thing to the range when the cast comes off my hand. I was able to confirm that the PPQ will take the mags from my P99 and vice versa. Now I just need to get some TFX Pro sights on this thing and a Blackpoint Tactical Miniwing holster.

Wow, you must play a mean round of golf! Forgive me but I couldn't resist.

Sorry to hear about your mishap and hope you heal quickly so you can try out your new Walther PPQ M1 and get back to playing golf!

Hope you heal quickly, therapy may be included. (Don't ask me how I know.) Then enjoy your Walther, but stay away from that dangerous golf game!;)

P.S. Though I am more of a revolver guy, I do like shootin' my Walther on occasion!

I have a rather aggressive golf swing, and on this particular occasion, I hit a slightly crooked tee shot and for my second shot I had 160 yards to cover. Pulled an 8 iron, made a normal swing and right at the bottom decided to have a battle of wits with a buried tree root. The root won, I placed...this is making me feel like Chubbs from Happy Gilmore.

All that said, I am really tempted to toss my newly acquired PPQ M1 into my range bag with some of the mags that I have loaded up for my P99 so that I can at least put 60 rounds of HST down range. It's like the dang gun is just sitting in the safe taunting me.

Good choice. The local stores around me are carrying less and less M1 or paddle Walthers. Much to my quiet ire.

As a fellow golfer and shooter, I can say I have suffered much worse physical injuries playing golf than I ever have shooting or competing in shooting matches. And it's not even close. Hope you heal up soon!

Same trend in my neck of the woods. I really wish they made an M1 version of the PPQ subcompact. The paddle magazine release is partly what I feel makes a gun a Walther. I've always liked paddle magazine releases.

Congratulations! It's an excellent gun. I also bought mine because the price was right, and because it made a good companion for my PPS, which also has the paddle mag release. I've been very happy with it.

Thanks. In addition to the price being right, the gun just seemed lonely in the case with all those goofy push button release M2's around it, so I figured it would feel more at home with a pair of first generation P99's and a first generation PPS. From the little bit of handling the gun that I've been able to do, it very much seems to be a single action only variant of the P99, not that I'm complaining.

Mines been rock solid since day 1.
Put a green FO on the front and added some Talon grips.
Found some P99 mags on a closeout rack. Yep, they work just fine!!! :D

As it's the only 'lever-release' pistol I have, sometimes it takes a little bit to 'get into the rhythm', but once there, it's second nature.
Trigger is nice for a striker-fire. (Sometimes a hair too light if I have just switched over from another pistol with a heavier pull)
Love the slide release. Right where I want it, 'significant' size, yet unobtrusive. Easy to sweep.

However, I must confess,,,
It's not my absolute fave 9 and,,,, as a result, it seldom see's much use.:(
Not that there's anything 'wrong' with it. Nope. Not at all,,,
It's just that I haven't quite 'melded' with it as well as I have with a couple of my other 9's.

That probably the biggest 'disappointment' (???) I have with it. Darn nice pistol with no real faults, but I have a couple others that I reach for first.

At any rate, it's nice to have choices and always glad to hear another Walther M1 has left the store and found a home!!!!

Enjoy!!!!!!!

From what I've read and also seen on YouTube, if I were new to pistols I would buy a PPQ. They seem great, but I've invested heavily in several Glocks and learning to shoot them well, so at this point, I've made my choice.

If they are as good as what I've seen you should be very well armed. I do look forward to shooting one someday and seeing how much better or worse they are compared to what I have. I hope they are worse, but I'm probably wrong.

Let us know, when you can, how it works for you.

My handling of the PPQ compared to my Glock 19 that's got some Zev Tech modifications (slide, barrel, and spring kit), the PPQ just seems more refined in all categories. I liken it to the way that my Wilson Combat 1911's compare to my Colt or Springfield 1911's. I anticipate that the PPQ will be every bit as solid as my P99's and my PPS have been. I must also admit, the PPQ feels a bit better than my HK VP9.

I'm a real fan of the PPQ trigger.
3 years with the PPS (hated the paddles) and PPS M2.

Went with the PPQ, PPQ .22 and PPQ .45 ACP.

My new PPQ SC is a bit wider than my PPS M2 and a couple
more rounds on board.

THe P99AS Compact is proabbly a bteer gun, at least according to the
Walther Forum members.

However, I see that Walther is really into the Luger/Browing button these days,
and the German police (and Security) only, PPQ M3 appears to have the button.

You can only get the .45 caliber PPQ with the button.

The P99C AS is about as rare as a unicorn fart in my neck of the woods. I was shocked to find a PPQ M1.

There is nothing wrong with getting a "Heckler & Koch" at S&W or Glock prices. There is a striker-fired Walther out there that actually has better tigger than a Glock out of the box. I don't recall model designation

All of them. I have fired new and used Glocks. And even custom Glock triggers. Very few have held a candle to stock Walther triggers. But that is my preference.

Correct, P99, PPS, PPS M2, PPQ, PPQ M2, even CCP all have triggers better stock than a Glock
