I see two prices for the Forster Co-Ax press. One with “S jaws” and one without. What purpose do these “jaws” serve? Search about but didn’t find an obvious answer.

So these "S jaws" are used in lieu of a case holder? And are simply a built in feature of the press? I obviously misconstrued what I saw. Brownell's is selling the "Forster Co-Ax press with S jaws" or Midway is simply selling the "Forster Co-Ax press".

The "s" jaws will work for the majority of cartridges .... those few that are not covered by the "s" can be covered with the "LS" jaw .... I use the "s" and have since late '70s .... load cartridges from the 9mm through the .375 H&H(based) along with the WSM size rims ...some twenty plus cartridges ....

If ....if I ever need jaws for the few odd size ...I will purchase the "LS" jaw ....

They are both selling the same press, just describing it differently. The S jaws eliminate the need for shell holders.
You can use shell holders if you get the adapter plate pictured in post #2.

Sorry, already done! Might help to explain the jaw system is the shell holder in the Co-Ax. Being double ended the jaws can be reversed in the press to handle two different head sizes. The S covers most commonly found head sizes. Just to confuse things there is an adapter available to use conventional shell holders. Many people find the Co-Ax system much superior to the conventional pop-in shell holders. I'm not one of them. There are cobwebs on my Co-Ax.

I was reading a little about them now that I know what they are. What I’ve read makes me a little concerned about the S jaws getting a good grip on my .30 Carbine cases ... something about cases with smaller heads?
