Marlin Model 25?

And IIRC there was a 25YN model that was the youth rifle.... I was impressed by the 25N in the early 1990's and almost bought a 25YN for my son but got sidetracked into something else for him. Seemed that the 25N's were good shooters but I never got any experience with them. The 25YN was a single shot if my memory is still functioning O.K. and that would eliminate any potential magazine problems.

The Marlin line-up at that time was the 25N in .22lr and the 25MN in .22 mag. Mine came with 7-round magazines which are interchangeable with the current XT and 10-round mags were optional.

L to R: 10-round SS, 7-round x 3. First two are newer production and feature a cut out showing the spring.

The main difference between the 25 and the 25N was the magazine. The 25 is what replaced the Model 80 which took the same magazine.
Here are my two Glenfield 25’s. You can see that the bolts are slightly different.

Interesting... I didn't know there was that much of a difference between the 25 and 15 ejection ports.

Nice catch, BTW!

Can any of you Marlin Pros tell me why some Marlin bolt guns have a safety that is on safe FOWARD and fire REARWARD??
To me, just opposite of the Rem. style=Safe to the rear=Fire to the forward position??

Just a strange thought to me..Bill.
