How many still have

I have the first 3 my dad gave me as a child.
Model 60 22lr
20 gauge 870
Model 700 .270

I don’t really use any of them, but they aren’t for sale. Lots of others have come and gone.

I have all but 5. One was a crappy Marlin 22 semi that was bubba'd up when I got it, and left in the same condition. An exposed-hammers Russian made side by side that was interesting but not practical. Those two I don't miss. In a moment of double stupidity, I sold a Series 70 Gold Cup used but in the box, and a Belgium made Browning .25 ACP. Those I should have kept. Still trying to replace the Cup, but with my ham hands, I don't miss the little Browning. In my defense, I sold those two to buy my first Benelli SBE. I sold that black SBE for more than I paid to buy a left handed camo SBE.

While I've sold a couple shotguns, one Glenfield and one Savage in addition, I don't count those, because they were bought for a good price with the sole intention of flipping them.

I keep a list, I’ve sold or traded 23% of all the guns I’ve owned. Inherited guns and gifted guns will never be sold, but if I see a good deal on a gun I’m mildly interested in I’ll buy it as long as I know I can get rid of it for the same price or better. I enjoy trying new guns out, I’ll keep something for a few months and if I don’t fall in love with it trade for something different.

I have yet to sell a gun.

Men in my family don't sell guns.

And while i have not owned nearly what some on this board have, it's a tetre i would see continue.

I will say that i have gifted a few, however. They are all still in the family and i get to shoot them when we all get together.

I've sold, traded, gifted at least 150 over the last 60 years.

Unless a gun has sentimental value, why keep something you no longer use?? I'd rather let someone else enjoy it than to keep it locked away in a safe.

And selling guns is how I often finance buying guns.

Nope. I'm a horse trader. Easy come, easy go. And I'm at the stage of life that I will likely continue to consolidate rather than expand.

I do, however, still have the first gun I ever owned.

Nope, I've gotten rid of almost as many as I still own. And I only know that because I counted them all off a minute ago. I don't miss any of them, as none were heirlooms or had brought back any particular memories.

There are some I won't get rid of. My grandfather's old .308 deer rifle, that he carried while teaching me the woods. The 20 gauge 870 that was my first hunting gun. An old single-shot .22LR given to my brother and I by an uncle one Christmas.

Generally, everything else is fair game for buy, trade or sell. I'm even considering getting something in .44 Special or Magnum and I've owned, sold and traded 4 different .44 Mags over the years. Don't miss the guns specifically but the caliber is fun.

I used to be in the never-sell crowd, but the older I get (now 72) the less I see the value of keeping guns I don't use anymore. But, my desire to buy really high quality guns has never been higher. So, selling some of the rarely or never used guns to buy highly coveted guns works for me.

No.
Now, I still have every gun that has been gifted to me or passed down to me. Those will never go.
But I have no qualms about trading or selling to fund another gun purchase. If I'm not using something, and it can go towards something I really want, I'm not messed up about it.

One thing I have never done, is pawned a gun during hard times. I've had some broke times, but that was something I was taught was not an option.

I have all the guns I've ever bought because I wanted them. I haven't had a reason to sell any of them.
Now I have also bought guns from people for the sole purpose of having something to trade towards something I actually want.

I have some of my original acquisitions. Others have been sold and replaced with functional upgrades. Starting to look at selling off seldom-used units as I reach my twilight years. I'm a shooter, not a collector.

I’ve never been able to rid myself of any of my firearms.
Even if they’re old enough not to be fired anymore, at some point it’s still a piece of history.
I may not be able to inherit my sons a big chunk of money, they’ll at least get what I’ve collected and be able to remember me for what brought us some great memories. Hopefully able to share that with they’re children.

My interests change like the wind and I have bought, sold, traded and gifted more firearms than I care to remember in my long life. There is a core group of handguns and long guns I will probably will never depart with such as my first .22 rifle, my first issued department revolver (Model 27) that I was allowed to keep when I retired, my Smith and Colt snubs and a few others although I do say though that I will consider all trades and cash offers.

I dont even still have all the guns I bought this year. I get bored and sell/trade all the time. My safes are like a hotels- Sentimental guns and guns that truly impress me are like the staff that stay there all the time, every other gun is just a replaceable guest.

The problem I have, is that the guns that I want to get rid of, have very little value. Ruger, Keltec, Kahr p380.

When pistols sell for cheap, they're ten times more likely to end up in the hands of some ghetto thug. I know a few collectors that seem obsessed with cheap junk, but can't get them to bite on the whole lot.

I think I'll just bury them somewhere. Home Depot has a "bury stuff in the back yard" beginners kit on sale this time of the year, in the plumbing section.

Make sure you bury ammo too!

By my count I've owned 24 firearms. 10 of them rifles, 4 shotguns, 10 pistols. I'm currently at 11 total. I'll probably add 4 or 5 next year if work stays as steady as ird been the last 2 years. There's 2 that I really miss, and 3 that I wouldn't mind having back but I'm not heart broken about them being gone. The rest are gone for a reason.
