Don't know how well the barrel will hold up, but I did get to shoot one. A friend bought a Cooper for his 14 year old son. Don't remember the model number but it was a fluted stainless barrel with a brake set in a synthetic stock. He topped it with a Leupold VX-6HD 4X24. I chrono'd the load so he could get a insert for the elevation turret. I was shooting a 130gr. Scirocco at 3480 fps. Recoil with the brake was about like shooting a 243. Very nice. Only person that I know that bought a $4000 outfit for 14 year old.
Sounds like a nice rig. Barrel life would be plenty good enough for a hunting gun, id also agree with the 8-1k round number. I wouldnt practice with it much tho, otherwise you might be rebarreling yearly.
