Wound up leaving with 2 nice ones! The Model 27-2 is simply beautiful. Nickel is flawless. Pictures don’t do it justice. Nickel is so hard to photograph. Obvious it has been shot very little. Ironically the serial number is within 274 of a 8 3/8” blue 27-2 I’ve owned for a while.
The 28-2 is not a beauty queen but one of the cleaner ones I’ve seen lately. Little blue wear but no damage. They will both be spitting lead real soon

Looks like it was a great day indeed. That M27 is a real beauty and the 28 looks ready for serious business

Nice to have friends who own a gun shop and have guns like these two available!

Keep rolling the dice!

You are correct. I've really got to know this gentleman pretty well in the last year or so. He sells ALOT of guns, used and new. He has some of everything in his shop from Really nice old Double Barrels to Military Guns to modern day guns. He probably has from $100 guns to $25,000 guns. I really like the way he does business. He is not out to hit a home run with every deal like so many dealers. He is going to make some money of course, but he thinks if you make a little here and there then people will keep coming back. He knows his stuff and gun values. He has always treated me more than right and I do keep coming back. He will also pay a fair price for used guns and he has offered me way more for guns that I was interested in trading than anyone else. He buys huge estates here and there so he makes his money when he buys not when he sells. Negotiations on a gun between us usually takes 2-3 minutes. If I was to hit the lottery, I would probably buy a pickup truck load from him the first day. I always leave drooling.

Sounds like you've got a great thing going here with this particular gun shop! If you happen to find anything else there that catches your eye please share it with us!

My Grandmother always said, Be ware what you want lest you get it !!!
I can't pass up any older N frame S&W in good condition, & I continue to get it.
They are great looking revolvers.

Good job

I shot nickeled model 13 qute a bit and found powder residue on the cylinder very difficult to clean. Other then that it was ok. While it is easy to scratch nickel seems more rust-resistant than stainless.
