I turned 21 today and I can finally get my glock from my parents place and start buying pistols!

My first non BP handgun purchase will be a Smith 637 or a SAA clone. Not sure which yet. It will be one I hang onto, that's for sure!

Concealed carry is in my future, but I still need to take the class and all that jazz. Luckily my dad still has all his course materials for it so I can hit the ground running.

Here's to happy shooting for all y'all!

Um so your parents didn't let you have your Glock?
I started keeping unto my own guns when I was 15. Of course that is when we moved, but still they never had a problem with it. No laws against someone owning a firearm underage, just if you're buying a firearm.

Apparently in my state it's illegal for me to "transport" a handgun until 21. Owning one is not a problem. I've looked and can't find the law but my Dad is an attorney so I just don't argue. I've had plenty of other guns to keep my satisfied while I waited though.

Well happy birthday. If ya gotta Glock already, you gotta get a revolver next! Not sure if you reload ,but a single six sure makes for some cheap and fun plinking!

Looking back now I regret not getting one when I first got my permit a few years back.

Yessir I do reload! That's why I bought my Henry in 357 mag so I already have most of what I need for 38 if I get that Smith

Happy Birthday Olon!

One of my first handguns for concealed carry was a new Charter Arms Undercover for the lofty price of $88. At the time I would have loved to have gotten a S&W Model 36 or 37 but they were quite a bit more than I could afford at the time. A S&W Model 637 would make for a great choice as would a single action revolver in .357 Magnum from Uberti or Pietta. Let us know what you get first!

My current .38 Special snubbies: S&W Models 649 and 638.

My single action revolver replicas: Beretta Stampede (by Uberti) and an EMF Hartford Model (by ASM).

S&W vs a Peacemaker type... get both... you know you want to. :D Seriously, you really can't go wrong there.

You did say you reload for a .357mag rifle... why not have a .357 revolver too? I'd recommend a barrel 3-7.5". It'll give you more to work with.

Happy Birthday, Olon.

Good choice on the Glock and the Henry.
Hmmm...the 637 or a SAA clone?...
I love my J frame Smiths. I also love my single actions, but they are Rugers.
This would be a tough one for me.
Are you getting the Perfomance Center 637 or the standard model? Either one is nice.

Whatever you decide, enjoy it. :)

Hey Happy Birthday!

Whatever you get, we expect pictures. Certainly won’t go wrong with a Smith. Like a model 66. Just try to look a little happier than Neo-Luddite. Having a 1911 should make you happier. No matter how long you own it. And one should definitely be on your list to purchase soon.

HA HA...seriously....That *is* how I look happy! Olon will do better, no doubt!

Happy Birthday! I celebrated my 21st birthday by getting permission to leave work early and went to the LGS and purchased my LE trade in gen 2 Glock 22. Still have it and CC it daily. I actually took my CHL training a couple days before I turned 21 and had to have my dad sign a waiver so that I could take the class.

Either the 637 or SAA would be good choices. I prefer DA to SA personally.

Happy birthday. For my daughter's 21st we took her to the county clerk to file her CPL paperwork. She took the class a couple of months beforehand. Oh and she got a Glock 43 for her birthday to go along with her CPL.
Yeah I am a proud dad.
Post some pics of whatever new gun you choose.

Happy (belated) birthday!

I recall that time and the excitement as I bought my first handgun, Ruger P89, then a GP100 .357 mag. Neither of which i still have... ya live, ya learn.

My opinion (which is worth what ya paid for it) is to go with the SAA clone. I've got a couple Ruger Vaqueros and they are just fun to shoot, everyone, even non fun people, enjoy them more than any of my other guns.

Why do I have 2? Well my wife thought hers was to pretty for me to scratch up in the woods, and she "accidentally" bought some jewelry without consulting me. So we both have .357 Vaqueros, and they are both great.
