He’s a good guy and I’ve bought from him a lot. I called him now. He’s holding it for me till Thursday. Did they ever come with the factory Ruger target grips? This one has them. I have them on my Service Six and much prefer them over the skinny stocks.

Same as the others, around here that piece would be sold quickly at that price if in good condition.

I have a stainless 200 year model that I'd turn down twice that.

You ever look at prices online? They are approaching silly levels. I bought a 6" stainless for $450 and was overjoyed at the great deal. $360 is just absurd.

See if they'll do $360 out the door ;).

Not only yes, but hell yes. I'm a Smith and Wesson guy, but I bought a Security-Six a couple of months ago for $450. Then yesterday, darned it my local shop didn't turn up ANOTHER one, this one, older and in even better shape, and I managed to talk myself into putting that one on layaway for some reason.

Did they ever come with the target stocks? I don't know really. I don't think I ever saw one with them "back in the day." Still, I have heard that Ruger found a "bunch" of them in a box at the factory a few years back and blew them out for like $5.00. True? I got no idea, but it's a good story. Still the one I bought earlier had them. This one was made about 1975 IIRC, and doesn't have the Ruger warning on the barrel.

My first handgun was a Smith and Wesson Model 19. It wasn't long after my wife (ex) decided she wanted a gun of her own. She picked a Ruger Speed-Six with a 2 3/4" barrel (blue). Realy nice gun. We added a Tyler's T-grip and she was set. A lot heavier than I'd want to carry now, but a good gun none the less. After we broke up I tried to buy it from her, but she was too smart for that.

It is true about Ruger finding a bunch of those stocks. CDNN was selling them for $10 like 6 years ago and I bought one for my Service Six. I should have bought 10 and flipped them.

I bought a pair of those when Ruger found them, as I had a blued .38 Special 4" Service Six at the time. I do regret selling that gun. I also had a 3" USPS Speed Six that I sold a year or so ago... for $700. I mostly regret not waiting and selling a bit later, but honestly it was a collector's gun, and I can't really afford to have those anymore.

The first firearm that I bought was a NIB 4" blue Security Six (150-33573 the SN remains stuck in my memory :)) in Spring'73, a few months after my 21st birthday.

In '75 I bought a NIB new-style-frame 2¾" s/s Security Six (151-75701).

I have long been sorry about the loss of those pistols (before the decade ended) ... but not that they went to two dear friends. :)

Sometimes when I see a really good price like that, it gives me pause.
I have run into a couple like that in my time.

That being said - for the price, you can't go wrong for taking the chance.
Hopefully everything is fine.
