How come I am never in the right place at the right time?

A friend of mine a few months ago got a LNIB RIA FS 1911 for $200. Now another buddy gets a LNIB G17-4 and G43:w/ Crimson Trace Laser for $500 (That's like buy in the G17 and we will throw in a G43 and a Laser).

I am NEVER in the right place at the right time!

Every once in a while a good deal will pop up and I'll be around to take it up...but I must be like you and be looking under the wrong stones for screaming deals like those...:(

Stay safe.

That's part of the game, hunt enough and you'll find them. All a numbers game if one is persistent. That said I have not won nor do I expect to win the Lottery. ;)

To get a screaming deal once you have to be in the right place at the right time. To get screaming deals regularly you have to dedicate time and energy to find them and be free to jump on them as soon as they show themselves. It's not easy.

Or just subscribe to a few Internet sites that sell used guns. You will soon be gun poor as I am.

Well, a casual friend just gave me his Baby Eagle in 9mm and about $200 worth of assorted pistol and shotgun ammo just because he didn’t want the hassle of carrying it to his new city of residence. Such luck is not my usual state of being, but I’m not complaining. Very appreciative.

Yeah, a relative of mine got a stainless Dan Wesson VBob for $1200, which is fairly common right now but crazy better than I paid for my (duty treat) VBob.

Then again I cannot complain because I ended up with a Dan Wesson Valkyrie that, through a series of trades, only cost me about $500 out of pocket, like new.

I am always either in the wrong place, or have the wrong # of dollars in my account. I had to pass on a $275 Shield in .45 just a couple of weeks ago.

Nah. I'd end up gun rich, but cash poor.

That’s the fun of the game.

Enjoy the deals that others get. That will help you keep looking.

Anymore, I don’t buy something “just because” it’s a good deal. I have to also want it. Keeps money in my pocket for when the item I want comes up. Used gun hunting is a fun long term hobby.

I like mine. Actually got it in the low 3's new a few months after Trump was elected. Included a bunch of accessories at the time. Couple of boxes of SCHP Ammo, Hearing Protection, Shooting Glasses, Loader, 2 Extra Extended Mags, Cheap Holster. Some sort of promotion they had at the time.
