Looking to syndicate folks response on well regarded trigger upgrades on a 700 I’ve had for a while. .308 and shooting mostly paper up to ~5/600 yards on my farm.

I’m big on Timmey too.

I did have a Rifle Basix trigger on a Marlin 17 HMR that was really nice.

Not sure what the state of Rifle Basix is anymore or of any availability other than marlin bolt actions.

TriggerTech or Jewell. The Timney 510 is a common hunting trigger, but I’ve never felt you get your money’s worth for one - the Calvin Elite is the only Timney I would buy, and I’d buy a Jewell or TriggerTech ahead of the Calvin Elite.

Huber is a whack job, and largely a jerk if you ever talk to him about his triggers and his higher order mathematics used in design. He markets on technical-sounding buzzwords to folks who don’t know any better, and generally throws insults at folks who challenge the scientific claims he makes, rather than supporting the claims with real science. He also refused last year to honor gift certificates he had donated to precision rifle match prize tables, giving black eyes to match directors hosting the matches and refusing the shooters which won the certs - dozens of guys, maybe hundreds, since he was sending out a handful of certs to a bunch of matches around the country, even club level, 1 day matches. Not someone I’d be willing to give my money, especially when as good or better options are on the market - especially for his prices.

Haven't used a Jewell yet.

I've used the stock Walker, The Xmark Pro, Basic Timneys, and a Trigger Tech.
I honestly don't think the Timney offers much in terms of user comfort over a polished and adjusted Walker or Xmark. (They are ....ugh...safer....or at least less likely to fail spectacularly than a poorly adjust or neglected Walker, or poorly adjusted Xmark)
In terms of stock triggers I think they ARE an upgrade tho, and we're I not comfortable working on the Xmarks, my 700s would probably have gotten those till I tried the Triggertech primary (not much more than a timney) on my buddies Ridgeline.
Now if I replace a trigger on any 700 with anything it won't be a basic Timney.

My 700 has a Walker that was adjusted by a gunsmith years ago. The pull on it is around 2.75 pounds. I like it. I’ve also owned the rifle for 47 years so I’m used to it. I do have Timneys on two other rifles and have been very satisfied with them.

I like the straight trigger Timney adjusted to 3 pounds for a field rifle. If I wanted to enter competiton it would be a Jewell, which I have on a 700 heavy barrel type and set for 17 .oz .
