Stopped by my LGS and found a USED 642-1 for $249. It was dinged and scratched for pocket carry but functioned like it should. I bought it and the misses and I went to get lunch. While in the drivethru I started playing patty fingers with it and found the frame cracked under the forcing cone. We went back to the shop and they offered me a full refund, which they didn’t have to do. Instead they gave me an even better deal on another 642-1 that was LNIB for $299. I buy a lot of guns from them but I feel like they would do this for anyone. Another good thing about the whole situation is they didn’t have to get the owner involved. I made sure to speak to the owner and praise him and his guys for what they did.

It seems there are still some good folks around who appreciate their customers and treat them as they would want to be treated. Good on them...

Why not give them a shout out by name in case there are readers here who are near them and can go to their shop?

You’re right I neglected to name them. It’s Howard’s Pawn and Gun in Macon, GA.

They were saying "We made an error, we want your business, we'll more than make it up to you."
Stand up guys.

Good to hear! Smart too in valuing a loyal customer and taking the extra effort to make things right for you!

Glad they made it right on the Customer Service, but Im a little surprised you took another Airweight.....o_O

Cracked frames are their Achilles heels. Its steel J-frames from here on out for me.
It’s a backup for the GP100.

That’s a place that knows how to get, and most importantly keep, good customers!

So far my Airweights haven’t had issues with cracking. I do keep an eye on them though.

Hopefully gun #2 doesn’t cause any issues for you.

Stay safe.
