Have 60 each 223 Wolf gold brass, boxer primed . Do standard small rifle primers work. I have not used wolf brass before??

I Removed the primer crimp. The primer pocket is same depth and I.D as LC brass. Reprimed with cci 400. The brass is soft
and noticed seating the bullets, that the force to seat the bullets are minimum so I put a
heavy crimp. Using a Winchester 64 grain PP bullet with canular, overall leight 2.260 inch.
They just do fit in AR magazine. Powder is AA2460 23.5 grain. Going to try to get to
range this week.

AA 2460 23.5 gr.64 gr.PP was 3.5
inch group at 100 yds. Well back to the bench .

I have lots of Wolf Gold in my mix. When I feel like more pew pew pew vs pull pull pull I'll buy a case or two of commercial ammo esp for fairly inexpensive stuff like .223 & 9mm. Last several have been the Wolf Gold & the brass seems just fine - no issues noted with it (or the factory loaded ammo).

Sorry - no help with the load since your powder, primer, & bullet are all different than mine....

My experience with Winchester bulk bullets has not been impressive over the years.
You might try some Hornady 62 gr HPBT from Mid-South Shooters Supply over 24.0 gr. of Accurate 2460. I run them over 24.5 gr of Ramshot TAC with excellent results in 5 different AR's.

Thhey are even cheaper in larger quantities and work well on coyotes.

I've got 3 lbs I have to use up. I'm working on a hog load with the 64gr win pp got a 3inch
group at 100 yd , 60 count 2nd reload time wolf brass . The only thing is the neck tension not as tight as LC / Federal case . I would like to get the group to 1.5 in. or less.

DPMS Orical 16 inch barrel 1:9 ROT with trigger job, Wolf brass Win.64 gr PP C.O.A.L 2.260 in. today, I tryed CCI 400 primers ,IMR 4198 results not good . Benchmark results not good , win 748 results decent , IMR 4064 seem to be the best. Win 748 2 inch at 100 yds. IMR 4064 I got 1 inch group at 100 yds. Had 1 slam fire.

Try a loading a dummy round without a crimp. Put it under your load and see if your C.O.A.L. changes. If not try not using a crimp.
Not crimping dropped about a 1/4" off my group.
You could always try IMR3031.

This combination of IMR 4064 Win.64 gr PP I what use on hogs with bolt action, It done well in my AR , the old powders can still shine.

IMR-4064 is capable of good accuracy in the .223/5.56, but you give up 300 fps compared to a more modern ball powder like Ramshot TAC, which matches the accuracy of IMR-4064, in my experience. Others that might do as well are Ramshot Exterminator, Accurate 2015, 2200, 2230, 2460 and 2520, H-335, Benchmark and Alliant AR-Comp. I haven't tried 2520 or AR-Comp, but have used the others with better results than you have been getting. YMMV.

I have AA 2460, Benchmark,Win 748 I've ben
working loads up with theses 3 powders I've got 2 to 2.5 in. groups at 100 yd. The imr 4064 was able to get 1 1/8 in.at 100 yd.

My AR likes 4064 also. I feel for you. It sucked trying to get it in the case.

Read post #5 here!!!! https://www.thehighroad.org/index.php?threads/cci-primers-for-223-5-56.755489/

I would question the "trigger job" before the CCI #400, but it is also suspect.

Slam fire is a much more immediate problem to resolve....

Consider CCI #41, CCi #450, Wolf SRM, Fiocchi SRM, Fed 7 1/2. CCI #400, Fed 200, Rem 6 1/2, & WSR have the thinnest cups so I don't use those for an AR.

Others will chime in & say they've loaded 9 bazzilion .223 with CCI#400 and 0 issues. Good for them. Others will say match the magnum primer to powder type only. Good for them too. But for me, I want the hardest, thickest cup or least sensitive compound - whatever it is that makes a CCI#41 or similar military type SRM not care about that floating firing pin.....

If truly a slam fire and not caused by trigger control, or high primer, bad trigger job, the CCI #41 is your best fix. I get double taps which acts like a slam fire on my 458 SOCOM if I don't grip the gun tight enough due to recoil. The 458 use a CCI LPM primer.

Could have ben a high primer I remember
a pocket that was hard to prime.

My slam fire may have came from hammer pin creaping out I installed a anti walking pins. I still have a five boxes of cci 400 .
After walking pins install have not experienced a slam fire .
