i just bought this FAL ...my first. Any info or knowledge appreciated! I’ll post pictures so you can see what I found. Did not realize how scattered and fragmented info is...but maybe I’m not looking in the right spot. Also any ideas of value appreciated!

Because I didn't see charge handle could be an Austrian G58 Steyr build on those good old PAC imported Imbel recievers ! I have two of those and consider it the best way to go if you want the primo Right Arm of the Free World

congratulation if it runs well it is top tier IMHO

Nice FAL, looks to be mostly German G1 kit.

Your carry handle is bent.

Dont know how much you researched it first, but you have bought one of the very best FAL receivers ever available in the US. IMBEL is the semi-official Brazilian Army small arms manufacturer and they make excellent stuff. Congratulations!

Looks like an Austrian STG-58 parts kit, assembled on an Imbel "gear logo" receiver. From the looks of it, seems the builder did a good job.

Judging by the takedown lever (vertical dogleg vs horizontal), the lower appears to be a fairly early production.

I'll second the FALFiles.com for more information.
