The NRA, for one, has always been hesitant to promote pro-gun demonstrations or rallies. The reason is that there is a very real danger of a low turnout. A rally with a low turnout shows weakness rather than strength, and is therefore counterproductive. Gun owners (unlike antigunners) are notorious for sitting at home.

Another factor is that the rally could very well be eclipsed by other news. Right now there's a good chance of that happening, with impeachment fever on top of an already burgeoning election campaign.

Remember also that Nov. 5 is the Virginia election, that could be crucial for gun rights. That's really where the attention should be concentrated.

Wish I could go.

To bad we don't have the financial backing to get someone to pay for Buses, Motels so we can tour the Country. Maybe someone can pay all our bills while we take time from work to go. Of course the Parkland Students had nothing else to do all summer!

From the article:

In the past, gun rights activists have been a lethargic bunch, but this time around things are different. The Second Amendment has been under attack as never before, in part by anti-gunners exploiting mass shooting incidents to push bans on so-called “semiautomatic assault weapons” and “high-capacity magazines,” along with registration and one-gun-a-month schemes. Also on the gun control agenda are “safe storage” mandates, mandatory training requirements, expansion of so-called “red flag” laws and other restrictions suggesting that proponents are trying to turn Second Amendment-protected rights into government regulated privileges.

Well perhaps, but a lot of them have things called jobs and families.

''Well perhaps, but a lot of them have things called jobs and families.''

Yes absolutely. At 5:35/am and 1st cup of coffee, I'm not looking up the name in my very old 3 ring binder with yellowed type writered pages. But one of my distant relatives was an officer in our Revolutionary War. I do not know the correct terms, but he was already an officer and serving under (?name) then was recommissioned, or whatever the correct term is, directly under Gen. Washington.

He had a family and job also. His sacrifice was a bit more then missing one day's pay, not going to son's recital or whatever leisure activity they did back then.

Just FYI on the rally folks, you all who can make it certainly cannot...if you do not know:)
