Well no more excuses, got almost all I needed.
I will start to reload ammo for my SASS adventures in 45 Colt my ingredients.

Press a T-7
RCBS 500 scale
Harrels Dispenser
New Brass un- primed
RCBS auto priming tool
Trail Boss powder
Bullet will be from Scarlet or Missouri lead 230 grains lead.
Sierra Book
Lyman Book
So please bear with me if silly questions are coming out of my keyboard.
Bought from Natchez cartridges gauge for 357 Hornady and for the 45 Colt, 38 special from RCBS.
When I received the RCBS are made on brass against the steel from Hornady.
My questions is bass case check are ok or just bought something erroneously and have to be send back to Natchez.

Thank you all in advance.

The check gauges aren’t really important - your actual firearm should be how you decide if your brass is sized properly or not. Personally, I would send the gauges back, no matter of what material they are made.

I didn't see dies or a kinetic bullet puller for those OOPS we all make. You'll want a loading block, plastic or wood as well.

True, but - new reloaders are often more comfortable using a case gauge. I have never used one in 30 years if loading, but in the past decade or so they seem to have become more popular.

If the cartridge will chamber, it will shoot.

New reloaders are often very confused when their reloaded rounds fit their case gauge, but still don’t function in their firearm.

Case gauges are much like going to a shoe store, then when the clerk asks what size you need, you ask him to try on the shoes instead of you.

A valid point, and a humourous analogy.

I have never seen the need for a gauge. As I said, if it will chamber, it will shoot.

IOW, use your chamber as the case gauge.

I personally like case gauges for my pistols. I used my gun barrels and cylinders for a while and I agree you don't NEED gauges, but for me they come in handy. Call me lazy but I got tired of going to the safe, getting my gun or guns, stripping them down and plunking. I just reach over and grab a gauge off the shelf and quickly run all the loaded rounds through before I box them up. If they pass the gauge they chamber in my guns. Works for me.

Kinetic puller is present along with RCBS and some Hornady dies.
I do understand the virtue of checking the original chamber and I will.
However, my concern is the material (brass) against steel.

Neither plunking into a chamber nor a gauge will assure function. Each serve purposes but only after running ammo through all functions in a gun will function be verified or not. Lots of motion on a bench with some things hitting the floor occasionally. Rather have a $25 gauge hit the floor than a pricey barrel. I find the L E Wilson Pistol Max gauges very handy. And their adjustable rifle-cartridge gauges are excellent.

Best of luck. Maybe down the road you’ll get the bug for shooting black powder ! In the mean time TB is perfect for your intended use.Enjoy!

I still don't own a bullet puller.

I have a Wilson 9MM case gauge because I had a tight chambered EMP, but until then loaded 9MM blissful ignorant that some rounds would not fit the gauge because they shot in my loose chambered (Pretty normal) 9MM handguns and AR.

I would be very surprised, no, shocked, if your sized .45 Colt cases would not fit your revolver, save the cash on the gauge, it will help pay for that really nice Harrels measure, or some RCBS .45 Colt dies.

Walkalong and others, thanks again.
My die for the 45 Colt is a matter of fact a RCBS (3 steps-dies).
Yeap the Harrels is really well done.
In the other hand, when open the scale package I found that its frame is plastic (web site description and photo, did not mention it) I wouldn't buy it otherwise.
Live and learn.
The second vaquero is on the way, so I will start this week with the auto priming tool.
I'm sure will be more telegraphs on the way, stay tune.

You'll probably want a 6" caliper for checking OAL since different bullets may have different OALs.
If you're intent is to work up custom loads for accuracy, a powder trickler is nice to have.

A small, not to be removed from loading bench, flashlight is mighty handy.

Also useful for illuminating rabbit holes.....just sayin. Handloading is a very relaxing, enjoyable adjunct to shooting. Have patience, and enjoy the experience.

Never saw a need for case gauges for rimmed straight walled cartridges. As said the revolver will tell you if the Ammo is right. A routine of mine is to drop each round before boxing into the appropriate cylinder. Especially the ones for the conversion cylinders.
Cartridge length is most often determined by the crimping cannula, although Lees tumble lube bullet designs allow some latitude there. Except in rimless where the cartridge headspace on its mouth of course. Such bullets normally don’t have a crimping groove.

Federal still had ongoing 20% of primes rebate if you spend$100. Runs till end of October. I'm planning on picking up $500 with too get max rebate of $100. alliant has a rebate on powder but being new in the game you may not have favorite powders to stock up on.

Time to get working on it.

We can supply you with 1000s of ideas to spend money on but most can be put into the "wants not needs" column.

Have fun and get shooting

Erief0g, thanks for the tips I have a new box of large Winchester primers already waiting for me.
With my limited resources in due my bad habit of getting additions to the herd.
Sadly, I will pass the offer at this time, as soon the bullets arrives my firsts steeps will roll.

I swear you guys, I will keep posted with pictures. Indeed I have a very sensitive heart,
therefore, no peer pressure ok. LOL
