I recently purchased one of the new Ruger 10/22 Competition Models on a bit of whim because it was just too dang pretty to leave it sitting on the shelf at the gun store!

Now I'm trying to decide on what optics I want to mount to it. I have a gift card to Bass Pro Shop so that does limit my options a bit.
My main use of the rifle will be plinking and target shooting from 25 to 100 yards (not much of a hunter). I've always slightly preferred a red dot but am wondering if a should go for more magnification or a different approach on this rifle.
The options I've been looking at are:
Vortex Spitfire Prism for $169

Like the idea of the DRT Reticle, the fact that it works without a battery, and that it includes a mount and caps. Only a 1x though.
Nikon P Tactical Rimfire 2x7x-32 $99
https://www.basspro.com/shop/en/vortex-spitfire-prism-scope
The one with the BDC is on sale for $99. Like the idea of keeping it on 2x for quick acquisition with the ability to zoom if needed. Scope weighs a pound by itself though and I would still need to buy rings.
Leupold VX Freedom Rimfire 2x7x33 $179
https://www.basspro.com/shop/en/leupold-vx-freedom-rimfire-rifle-scope
By far the most expensive option (especially once I buy rings), but I have heard nothing but great things about Leupold. I also like the fact that it is 5 ounces lighter than the Nikon.
Basically I am curious on what everyone's thought are on which direction they would go and why.
Thanks!
