Springfield's Hellcat carry pistol

Micro pistols are ok and they have their place. I will keep my P365 but honestly since I don't pocket carry I'd rather carry something a little more substantial in my hand like my 3953. I don't see any difference carrying one or the other.

Weight if nothing else. I spent years carrying first a Colt Combat Commander LW and then a Detonics Combat Master. By the end of the day, my a$$ was dragging even though I was much younger and more fit. If it were not for the weight, I would still be carrying a cut down 1911. As it is, I'm carrying a Springfield Armory XDs which after 3 years is starting to feel heavier the older I get.

The ease of concealment in summer is also another factor. If one concealed carries all day 365 days a year, one's perspective about size and weight will be different than someone who carries open or concealed sporadically.

18 oz high-capacity 9 with a subcompact grip -- not for me. I will say it looks like they did a good job giving it decent sights in their own right that also co-witness with slide optics.

FWIW, I carry concealed all day, 365 days. I've had and no longer have any desire for guns under 30 oz or with anything but a full-size grip.

I have a tendency to get very excited of any new gun model that comes out. My first impulse is I cannot wait to buy one. About 24hrs later that impulse had died down. Then the desire just wanes from there. Then I just wait until I can shoot one. Then in most cases, I realize how much I love the guns I do own and which I spent a long time before purchase. I love one of my Micro9mm's so well, that after trying out some new models, I saw a price on the discontinued model and bought a second gun for a heck of a deal. Actually bought two.

Take a $500.00 gun. Sounds great, a few nice features, but then add the cost of magazines. (all my EDC Pistols have at least 12), then a holster. In most cases, just not worth the purchase.
Sure. I’m the same way. Pretty much why I always force myself to wait on purchases, x10 when it’s a new design.

I could just actually use a pistol this size.

Somewhere in between a single stack 9/40 and a Glock 26.

I got all excited about the Sig 365, then they had issues. Then more issues. So I never got one. I’m hoping this isn’t more of that.

Same position I'm in.

Springfield was throwing shots and subliminal low blows at Sig while they were having those issue. They'll end up looking mighty silly if their offering has even more issues.... With that said, the XD and XDs Mod 2s, the XDe, and their new Sig P238ish 911 offerings seem to have gone off w/o a hitch.

This is going to sound awful, but honestly, I have more faith in Springfield than I do Sig because Springfields are made in Croatia, not by lazy, entitled American workers.

Yes. They totally will.

Hopefully that’s not the case. Guess we’ll see.

Honestly I hope the come out with a 4" version with the same grip.

They used to offer an XD-S with 4" barrel. It wasn't selling and they discontinued it.

The modern trend is for hammer-shaped guns with longer grips and shorter barrels. Personally I find it absurd, but the market has spoken. When Glock 45 started flying off the shelves, everyone rushed to offer one of those, even Kahr.

It will be awhile. I heard that the initial manufacturing run was 200 units, which have been released....
