I saw this model of a EAA 40 in a local pawn shop. Don't need one but it sure does look a lot nicer in person. It appears to be all stainless. The owner is not in for a while so I didn't handle it. EAA gets a lot of great reviews as far as quality and not-so-good reviews for their CS. Asking price is $425 so $400 is a probable sale price. The last 2 used guns I bought from an LGS both had problems but they were Rugers... so, problems solved. So I am a bit skeptical when buying used guns when I don't know why the previous owner let it go.
Anyone with real world experience with this particular model? I'd love to hear about it.
Thanks in advance.

I own five full-sized Witnesses and like all of them very much. Two are polymer and three are steel. I don't know for sure about the OP's price, but it sounds reasonable if the pistol is in nice shape.

For those who don't know, they are copies of the CZ75 made by Tanfoglio in Italy. I believe that Tanfoglio has been making them since the 1970's, or maybe the early 80's.

I also have an SAR B6P, which is a polymer compact CZ75 copy made in Turkey. I like it a lot, too.

I paid $250 NiB for the little Turkish compact. The full-sized polymer Witnesses were $250 apiece used. The two steel Israeli surplus ones were something like $330 each. I think the fancy 45acp was around $400 used.

Here is one of my steel Witnesses. It's a fancy one.

Here is an Israeli surplus Tanfoglio.

The little Turkish compact is a nice little pistol. I got the stainless slide version.

I had that exact model (same finish and chambering). It fit very well in my hands, felt quite substantial and was reasonably accurate. It was not, however, reliable. I forget now if it would fail to feed on the first rounds of the magazine or the last few rounds. It was over a decade ago, maybe approaching a couple decades.

If it were able to be remedied the first or second time it went in for warranty repair, I'm certain I'd still have it. I really liked it but it didn't like to function.

I had a Tanfo compact in both ;40 and 9mm. I liked the .40 better than any other ;40 I owned, but I ended up selling it as I exited .40 ownership and limited my stuff to .45, 9mm, 380, .22LR, and .38/357.
Unlike Snowdog's mine was, as have all my Tanfoglio made guns, totally reliable.
