I bought a firarm from William Castleman of GAINESVILLE (user name myoptics) , FL, I can not reach him to confirm payment. I have tried for two days, what course of action do I have if I cannot get in touch with the seller? I am just vexed with this behavior, yes its the holidays but when your selling stuff your business comes first not your holiday celebrations.

<<Edited: Seller made contact, problem resolved. >>

Although each transaction is unique, I’d advise some patience. I’ve made over 275 gunbroker purchases, and there’s been only one complete failure.

I’ve had a couple of purchases from smaller dealers (small local gun shops or pawn shop) where there was a significant delay. In both cases the owner had experienced a family emergency situation that took him away from his business. Stuff happens.

Hope it all works out for you!

Not everyone has his email set up to send an alert to his smartphone the instant something hits his inbox. And not everyone drops all of the 5000 other important things he has going right now to answer instantly either.

I would be patient due to the holiday, some folks travel and others are at family events and disregard business . not ideal but it's reality. I personally have SEVERAL customers who would really really like me to be at work this week but my kids and wife come first and it's just the way it goes sometimes. Hope it works out ok

We sell on Gunbroker and a few other sites and the biggest hassle so far has been receiving dealers. Customer buys a gun, we wait on getting ffl from receiving dealer. Had one dealer not get my emails, had them email me and I replied with our ffl and all finally went well. 3 week delay.
Be sure your receiving dealer is up to date on all of it and knows a gun is coming.
We've had maybe 15% of our gun deals have non payment or no receiving ffl dealer issues.

Been through this a few times. I have had as many as 150 guns listed on GB at the same time. When I go on a cruise I might be gone two weeks. Then it would take 2 days just to answer emails. I could do it while onboard but I'm too tight to pay for wifi. Besides, it is a vacation.

Professional standard is ~24 hours to answer messages. Phone/email.

not everyone is a professional or pretends to be.

Not saying this is the OP, but nothing chaps me like an email at 8pm Monday I respond to at 4pm Tuesday and the guy claims I waited two days. No fool, I didn’t.

What's your GB user name? I'd like to make sure I never sell anything to you.

OP , you owe the seller an apology. You hit the panic button and ran to THR.

And the 2019 Scrooge award goes to -----

Be fair here, we all have freaked out now and then .. We were all beginners and did not know.. In this hurry burry wacky world we are bombarded with 1000s of stories about how someone on the Internet is going to screw you over and rob you blind.. OK so the OP got worried and jumped trying to get ahead of a possible problem.. Who the Sam Hill has not once or twice.. But one heck of a good lesson for all of us. Some people do not live on the computer 24/7... some do... I bet dollars to donuts we can all show a little more patience.
