Or what did I just buy? It looks good like it's been sitting in a safe for a few decades. Has a bit of lint in the barrel and there is a dust cover with a little bit of a rattle in the back of the receiver but I think if I add a little bit of epoxy to the wood stock it'll probably take care of it.

The magazine is pretty weird with three positions for shorts longs and long rifles.
It looks like I should be able to get seven or eight in there but after five it's physically impossible to get another round in there.

I've been looking for a .22 bolt action and this was a good bit cheaper than what I had in mind and looks like it should do what I want. I intend to press it into service as a trainer for nephews nieces and friends kids. There was a romainian trainer there but it looked much rougher and fairly coated in cosmoline, as much as I have fond memories of using dad's old romainian trainer this looked like the better rifle and cheaper too.

I'll add pictures later.

Their very good rifles. Don't glue the plastic sloped end of the receiver. That is a plug that screws out to remove the bolt for full take down when brl/act is removed from stock. Your luck to have the 3-way mag let alone intact. Many times the adj piece has been remove. THe old Mossbergs were sleepers up until 5 or so years ago. Now the prices have jumped. I love THR but the most and best info you,ll find anywhere on old Mossbergs is here. https://www.rimfirecentral.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=51 and here https://www.havlinsales.com/. Enjoy it and good luck.

Thanks that's the part that shakes it looks like there is a bit of wood nicked out of the stock next to that and I was thinking of building the stock back up with some wood putty or something and sanding it back down to fit.

Yeah the wood. I didn't want you to just pump some glue in there to stop the rattle. I have a couple 340,s and a bunch of other old Mossberg .22s. I got hooked on them after the 2008 recession. A lot of different models started showing up in gun shops all over the area I travel for work. People were cashing in old guns and I was luck enough to fid them for very good prices. All have easily doubled in value and many tripled+ depending on models.
