For many years my dream revolver was a Smith and Wesson Triple Lock.
It turns out I have four of them now. All chambered for 44 Special.
This was my first one.It shipped November of 1908.
This nickel plated one one came next. It shipped in October of 1915.
This one shipped in 1913. I don't know the month.
This is my favorite. Hardly a drop of blue left on it, it shipped in December of 1907. Because the finish is almost all gone, I got it for a steal, $650. And it is the best shooter of the bunch. Roy Jinks told me it shipped in December of 1907, which is weird because all the books say the TL was not cataloged until 1908. Still, I have to go with what Roy told me, he should know. The SN is very low, below 200.
You guys who want a Top Break, I'll make you drool a little with my favorites, an almost matched pair of S&W New Model Number Threes, chambered for 44 Russian.
Bannockburn, I almost have your dream Colt. I have a couple of 2nd Gens with 4 3/4" barrels, but alas they were made in the late 1960s.
I guess my bucket list revolver these days would be a Smith and Wesson Registered Magnum. I had a chance at a couple, but they were awful beat up. The nice ones are a bit beyond my reach.
