PSA seems to be knocking it out of the park as of late. I watched a few videos from SHOT and they really seem to be going above and beyond, expanding their product line, and giving people what they want at reasonable prices. They have a Jackal which is a 5.56 monolithic upper (not of a typical AR variety) that is a buffer tubeless design but that can attach to an AR lower. They have their Glock 19 competitor pistol. They’re promising that their MP5 clone will roll out sometime this year. They’ve got a number of new AKs. The representative said that they’re also looking to develop an SVD clone in 7.62x54 with .308 and 6.5 Creedmoor to follow. Of everything that I’ve seen from this year’s SHOT, PSA has me the most excited. Other manufacturers have cool stuff, but besides the big YouTube gun channels and rich people, I doubt the normal working man will get to own a lot of those items. PSA makes good products and doesn’t require people to decide whether buying a gun or paying for a mortgage, college, etc is more important.

It’s because they have an agenda of “just one more” placed into the hands of the general public. The more firearms in the hands of private law abiding citizens the harder it becomes for a government or Supreme Court to rule against our rights. Much the same it should be for gun owners to be vigilant in portraying gun ownership in a positive light as well as recruit new people into the ranks of gun ownership and show them them the value of their 2A rights and why we should not let them be infringed.

Some people might say that PSA’s campaign of “just one more” or their push for different types of firearms to be “in common use” is just their way of selling more of their product. I really feel the owner Jamin McCallum (what his story) issincere in his agendas and desires to protect 2A rights through sheer numbers of firearms in the hands of voting citizenry.

But more to your point on their offerings they have some really cool stuff coming out, I’ve been waiting for their MP5 clone since they announced that they were working on it 2-3 years ago. Their AK’s continue to get better and better and the accuracy on them are surprising. Their AK-V 9mm is a sweet package as well and all this is not even talking about all they’ve done in the AR platform.

It has been really awesome to see a bonafide firearms manufacturer being born right before my eyes and thriving, even in a saturated market. That tells one that there is very good vision, management and determination within PSA.

They didn’t say what the guns would cost with the exception of the Dagger pistol which will be $299 for the base model and $599 for the threaded/RMR cut variant. Regarding the PSA5, they only said it will be significantly less expensive than the competition. I think the closest priced MP5 clones are from PTR and they run about $1700. I’d imagine that the PSA will be in the $1200-1400 range, although I’m really hoping they can get them under $1k. If they can bring them to market under $1k and they’re reliable, they will crush the competition and sweep the market.

I’m thinking their MP5 will start at $1,200-1,299 but after selling for a couple of years they could get them down to around $1,000. But with the roller delayed bolt there’s some definite manufacturing hurdles and tooling that had to be overcome.

I get the recoil reduction the MP5's have is amazing, but is there no other 9mm braced pistol out there that is engineered to reduce recoil or are we all stuck with blowback shoulder breakers?

I would like for them to have some ny compliant stuff, ny won't say what is compliant so no one knows what can be made or sold.

I'd try a CA compliant Rainier Arms stripped lower, and see if you can get it through registration ... If they'll let you register it, then maybe they'll inform you of how you can build it legally ...

I'm a PSA customer. They are OK in my book :)

We don't have to register them. Stripped lowers are no problem hole guns are. Ny will not say what is and is no compliant or a reason.

I'm hoping we see the MP5 this year. They've introduced it at SHOT for the past few years, starting at SHOT 2018. They said it was coming in 2018, then again in 2019, now they are saying 2020. I'm hoping this is the year. It could be a game changer in the MP5 clone market.

The Jakl is another interesting piece. I doubt I'll buy one, but it's still pretty neat none the less. If you're into AR's, and want a folder, it looks like a neat choice.

The pistol is another interesting item. The fact that you can interchange parts with a Glock makes it pretty awesome imo. If something breaks, you know it'll be easy to find parts for. I'm interested in seeing real world feedback on these.

I have been a little turned off on PSA lately.

My gen 2 pa10 wouldn't run out of the box.

I bought a shorty upper in 556 with a cocked barrel.

bought a gen2 pa10 upper kit on a daily deal last year. didnt realize at the time that gen 2 lowers are no longer available and they don't recommend mixing gen's.

The JAKL looks really neat. In one of the videos I've seen, the designer said that the whole upper is one extruded 7075 piece, it uses a piston system with unsuppressed, suppressed and off settings, uses a standard AR lower, and should come in in the $799 - $899 price range, much cheaper than most modern AR alternatives.

I'm also looking forward to the MP5 copy, suppressed blowback 9mms have a lot of port pop, i'm interested in getting something delayed like this PSA5 or the roller delayed Stribog when it comes out.

And of course, who wouldn't love functional Glock copies showing up on PSA's daily deals sale email for ~$250.

True. Its funny my first and second PSA purchases arrived with a PSA logo sticker, the third arrived with a PSA sticker with the image of a "hook" through the logo. I thought that was kind of funny. Most people it seems who advocate for PSA and own their products seem to own a few or more uppers. I like the better stuff too, I just know PSA to be of decent quality.

Agreed that it's really cool to see a new firearm manufacturer branch out so much.

Can't say I am personally excited about any of these - maaaybe the MP5, but it'd have to come in at purely-shooter type money, which I think it's going to be a bit higher. That being said, who thought we'd be getting a new-manufacture Dragunov out of an AR kit manufacturer. Keep it up, PSA.

The JAKL looks interesting, but I wonder how close it will be to the CZ Bren 2 pistol. It looks like the intent is very similar. Even if it is identical, CZ doesn't bring in enough of the Bren 2 guns to compete very well.

The AK-V has hardly any recoil. My AR-9 does beat you up a bit.

But I am excited about the SVD in .308.

What the heck is a 9mm shoulder breaker? Maybe I've missed a memo somewhere, but every PCC I've seen had way less recoil than a lightweight 223 AR. Have people really become that sensitive?

I'm not saying they're shoulder breakers, but the recoil on the MP5 is WAY less than a 9mm AR or PC Carbine or any other blowback action.

9mm PCCs aren't shoulder breakers, but with all the reciprocating mass required for straight blowback operation they tend to be jumpier than a well setup .223 AR, at least mine is. Delayed blowback systems allow for a lower bolt mass and therefore a smoother shooting rifle.

My main interest in roller delayed PCCs is that they are supposedly much quieter at the ear than straight blowback systems when run suppressed. My PCC has a good amount of port pop with a can mounted, I think my ARs with AGBs are actually quieter to the shooter suppressed.
