I got a G41 recently, even though I knew I wanted a G41MOS. I started looking around for aftermarket slides milled for the optic mount, and I can't find them anywhere. It's looking like I'll have to take it to a gunsmith. Here's some questions for anyone willing and able to answer them:

Has anyone found an aftermarket G41 slide with the optic cutout? If so, where and how much did it run you?

Has anybody just gotten their stock slide drilled and tapped, then slapped an optic on that? I imagine that trouble arises if you want to co-witness with the irons. Other than that, are there any other issues with this approach?

For those who've had a 'smith mill their slide, what would be a reasonable price? I imagine with a cnc mill it would be incredibly quick and easy, especially if they already have the toolpath saved. I wouldn't expect this to cost much but I could be wrong.

Still a little on the fence about even putting a reflex on it, but I don't have one on any other of my pistols so it might be neat. This would be a range toy/woods carry/possible nightstand gun.

Pictures welcome of course. Thanks in advance for your input!

If you're "roaming around the heartland" in northern Illinois , call glock kreig. He does this work and is very informed on all things glock (and a lot more), plus he's a great gut to deal with. That's my only recommendation, never had any guns milled but if I did, he's the only one I'd trust to do it right. I'm sure others do great too, but I don't know them...
