I’m gonna need something to carry while my colt king cobra is getting warranty work done. I’m thinking about the basic black undercover for 260 at buds. Opinions?

In fully honesty, the DAO Undercover is the best shooting .38 featherweight gun I have ever owned. Shoot it better than an LCR. Shoot it better than a 642. It's compact and weighs next to nothing, but my is a laser beam with ARX ammo. I bought mine because I was down a pocket revolver and didn't want to go the Ruger/Smith road again.

I think it'll get you by just fine.

The black finish on mine has held up as well if not a bit better than the finish on my 642. It's more obvious due to the black on silver rather than silver on aluminum. The nicks and dings in the finish aren't bad and look no worse than a bit of aluminum peeking out from a well used Beretta or AR.

I really like mine for what it is: A reliable and durable steel frame 5 shot insurance policy that costs less than $275. I keep mine in my car travel bag as a back up. If I can't dress around my larger gun, I just toss that little Charter in my jacket and roll out.

They are good looking guns to me. Kinda rustic or something. I like the wood stocks. Maybe I can find some for mine

I like the super slim boot grips. Depending on your hand size, they may or may not work for you, but they disappear in a jacket pocket.

Thanks for sharing the pictures. I like the aluminum frame gold/black finish.
Thanks
Thats a Charter Goldfinger.. I installed a DAO hammer (2 mins) installed custom polymer grip panels weighs 11oz ... I keep it loaded with Hornady 38spl 110gr FTX standard pressure
Its a great pocket gun ...

I am very pleased with mine... only thing I did not like was the factory grips.

The way they are designed jams my middle finger up against the trigger guard. Also, they don’t leave much room to work when the cylinder is opened.

Pachmayr Compac grips solved both those issues for me.

Well I got to say I love it! In the first 5 minutes of handling and inspecting it’s got a lot of qualities I wasn’t expecting. Cyl locks up tight as bank vault, weight is awesome, trigger is dare I say almost as good as my new king cobra! For 250.00 OTD it’s a steal! If this gun runs with no issues I’d have to say one of the best values in firearms today! Wow.
