also, the pac lite is nice and tight on the MKII frame but is a little loose on my 22/45 frame. Does anyone know if/how they can be shimmed?

I found OEM factory mk2 mags on ebay recently for about the same price as aftermarket mags. unopened, seem like the real deal, but haven't used them yet.

I had the same issue on one of mine... seems like I put a 3/8” square piece of electrical tape on the UNDERSIDE of the front gripframe lug... leave a corner folded over the front edge so it doesn’t get pushed to the back. This will push the receiver DOWN into the grip which is what you want... as opposed to shimming between the frame and receiver which increases the gap.

Congratulations. I saw you speak for that mkii ... that was a great deal and I would have been sorely tempted if I had seen it first :). Years ago when tactical solutions was a new thing I ordered a 6” and a 4”... traded the 4” away in a moment of weakness but it still have the 6”. In hindsight I wish I had gotten an 8-12” since they’ve been discontinued.

The plastic 22/45 frame with the aluminum upper feels almost too light to be a real gun LOL. I got a couple FTFs with the Pac-Lite now (I shot them again today) and I wonder if the slop between the frame/mag and the upper is to blame. Regardless I think they're both cool. The front sight on the MKII is thicker than I like; it pretty much fills the rear sight notch. But it seems to shoot straight regardless. I think the MKI/II is about the handsomest .22 pistol ever made. I'm excited to get to know this one.

BTW I've noticed a bit of trigger slap/sting from the MKII, particularly on the last round fired, which I can't understand. Any thoughts?

Congrats on the Mk.II and the PacLite upper! I have had several Mk.IIs, mostly in the 5 1/2" bull barrel configuration, over the years and have been very pleased with their performance right out of the box. Finally found some decent factory grips which fit my hand very well and are quite comfortable to use. No experience with the PacLite upper but have a TacSol 2211 conversion kit on an Essex frame that I put together. First rate build quality on the TacSol unit with very tight tolerances on it. I'm sure you will get many years of shooting enjoyment with your new additions!

Yes, very light. I got mine as a backpacking grouse gun. It was so light though that the not-so-great factory trigger was really hard to shoot well... so I got the VQ trigger (which I see you already have) which really helped.
Ftf.. could be the gap but also be sure to clean your chamber regularly... it’s a much tighter chamber than the factory ruger and a .22 doesn’t have much wiggle room.

I too was underwhelmed with the t/c sights... when I’m able I would like to put a Fastfire3 red dot on it.
