Show us your beat up, much loved "had since new" gun.

Well, it's not beat up at all, but it is the only gun I have ever bought new:

Long ago I put some kind of aftermarket grips on it that are a RCH thinner than the OE ones (which have since vanished). Thinking about doing the P95 trigger to it to further improve the reach.
And ALL of the wear is yours. Gotta love that.

Todd.

Taurus PT 145, bought new in 2010, in anticipation of Walker signing CCW for WI. It has some holster wear, been in a lot of Kydex, and I took the sights off a few years ago, I always hit low with them, I shoot it a lot better without them. It's not a 50 yard Bullseye gun. For those who own one if you don't already know, holsters for the P220 fit it quite well, and I have couple for G19's that fit it, too.

Kydex or nylon holster wear? I like it.

It's never been in a nylon holster. Mostly Kydex, though I have a couple leather belt slides that I occasionally use, and just picked up the Bianchi 'foldaway' 2 pack of holsters on clearance at work. The larger one fits my PT145, the smaller fits my PT1911.

That was a great old gun store for sure! I liked it better than The Traders in San Leandro because the staff was friendly and would talk to a pimple-faced teenager who loved guns living in the heart of anti-gun liberal-ville!

I also bought three guns from Seagles. Besides the 10-22 I bought a Win 94 .30-30 and a Browning A bolt .338 Win Mag. The centerfires were sold years ago when I was between jobs and needed money. :(

Stay safe.

Even though I see it all the time, I hadn't thought to include this one till I saw one of my posts with it in it today.

I traded the top to one of my old Scout IIs for it in the 80's when it was NIB.

I really dig the cylinder aging and the holster wear-ring on the muzzle.

These old blued Charters age interestingly for the several different metals and finishes.

I was a child star of trapshooting circa 1980.
My dad was a dedicated trap shooter, and attended the big shooting events throughout the midwest. I shot a custom stocked model 12 Winchester throughout my youth.
My shooting started to suffer because my custom stock no longer fit my maturing face.
One of my dads friends insisted that I try his nib, unfired 870 competition trap, to see if it kicked me like my old mod 12.
We were all on the same squad in 1981 when he won the Illinois singles championship , and I won the state junior title.
I tried the 870 on a 200 bird event. I broke a 93 on the first 100, then a 100x100 on the following 100.
I bought the gun that day, and have shot it ever since.
My trapgun, bought from an old friend. Nothing special except the story.

Nice, I'd like to get an 870 Competiton and put the same stock my 1100 Competition Synthetic has on it. I have seen a couple of these. But I think I'll be playing with my new Ljutic for a while.

I can count what I purchased new on one hand. None of them had or have much use or wear. Most of my loved and used to pieces firearms came used to me and I figure I am just adding a chapter or two to them for the next owner. As it should be.

BHPmkIII (2).jpg P14.jpg
These are my two homeliest beauties.
The BHP my dad bought new in '92, and gave it to me sometime in the early '2000s. He knew I wanted it bad! I'd fallen in love with his C series BHP, but he wasnt letting me have THAT one. It functions perfectly, and goes with me everywhere.

The Para Ordnance P14, my dad bought new as a frame only, then built it with Colt parts. It too, runs like a clock, but is quite a big chunk o' metal, so I only carry it occasionally, OWB, while hiking or doing fire mitigation. (it even runs while full of sawdust)

This one only meets two of the three criteria for this thread..... 1. Beat up ?....... No; I've always been real careful about it and actually surprised it still looks as good as it does after all these years.. 2. Much Loved ?....... For sure. It's the first gun I ever got brand new. Was my primary shotgun for a couple decades and even shoots the old Foster style deer slugs very well for a smooth bore. Got my first deer with it. 3. Had since new ?..... Yes. When I was 18 I had saved up some money and was undecided about what to get when a local sporting goods store put these on sale. Got down there just in time to snag the last one they had. Still got it. Was asked about selling it a couple years ago and I said "sure, at my estate sale !". It's a 12 Ga. High Standard Flite King DeLuxe Model K1211 purchased new in Nov. 1968. Still going strong even if it's not my main shotgun anymore. Still gets used on clays and pheasants although my main clays gun is now a Browning Citori.... IMG_1912.JPG .... IMG_1920.JPG ... That third photo is really something.
Nice to see such a long and well loved FliteKing.

Todd.

I must confess..... I didn't shoot all those pheasants...... Only two or three and my buddy got the others but it was threatening to rain when I took the picture and he had already put his Benelli 20 ga. away. I had wanted to get the picture with both guns on the rack with the pheasants. Oh well.......

You are forgiven.

Go and sin some more.
